Hey everyone! I apologize for this but we have to delay the release of version 2.0 of the Immortal Fray demo due to some hardware issues. We really appreciate your patience throughout this experience. Very soon Ill be posting footage from the game and our live showcases. We want to make sure that the game offers you a one of a kind experience so again, I thank you for your patience.

Here is my roadmap so far for the next couple of weeks and what we are working on currently.

  • We are trying to finish up the new user interface
    *Im close to having the wall bouncing mechanic complete
    *The new demo will have a P2P networking functionality so you can play your friends online!
    *Story mode with an intro cinematic (Super hard to do)
    *Trailer for the game

I expect this to take me anywhere from a few weeks to a month. We are a small team and up until this point we have been working off of a non existent budget. Soon I will enter into negotiations with publishers and possibly even consider to run a kickstarter campaign.

Partly responsible for the delay of the demo is due to the implementation of two more characters. Ill be holding a public poll this week on wether people prefer to just have captain hook and peter pan for now, or if they would like to wait a little bit longer for two more characters.

Finally I can put up the Peter Pan gameplay trailer. Ive been silent mostly because Ive been working full time and trying to ensure the next demo meets all of the concerns from the last prototype. However, Im nearly done with this sprint and you can expect the next demo coming soon!. Make sure to join the mailing list for an access key.

Here’s the download for the Alpha build V2.0. I’m aware of the bugs, but none of them break the game. Keep me informed on any improvements you’d like to see and if you spot any game breaking bugs. Enjoy!

Are you going to add the ability to jump over your opponent? A 2.5D fighter without cross-ups is just weird. This seems to be the type of game that could benefit from double jumps like Guilty Gear. Good job so far, the game is coming along nicely.

*In game pause menu shows command list of both characters
*In game pause menu shows controls for player 1 and player 2
*updated GUI
*Updated background for character select screen so that it’s not just solid black
*Updated default controls for both keyboard and xbox controller inputs
*Updated How to play menu to include Keyboard inpiuts

I really like where you’re going with this! The aesthetics are great and the movesets feel good. That being said, I noticed a few issues. The first one is small. There are some times where a pillar or something in the foreground can obscure the entire playfield. It’s on the left side. The other is that I seem to be getting pretty delayed responses to input. It was easiest to notice when jumping, I could hit the button and get my hand completely off the stick / keyboard before the jump animation even started. I tested with aboth keyboard controls and a PS360+ (DInput).

Thank you the feedback is very useful. Yea we found the object that gets in the way and we removed it and being able to do cross ups is now possible. Expect these changes to be in the next update. I plan on having it up by either tonight or tomorrow afternoon :slight_smile:

Update Noted:

*fixed graphical error where object obstructs players view on the left side of the dojo stage
*Adjusted jump force of characters to enable cross-overs
*Adjusted Hurtboxes of medium and heavy air attacks for cross-overs

Im considering double jumps but im trying to get it to work without looking wonky so maybe in the next build. Version 3 of the build will have more features and two more characters.

Thanks. I could see this being on mobile devices if I get the opportunity in the future. Right now im just trying to implement the features I’ve been writing up and polishing the build for the next update.
