Get it from the hori usa store or amazon.
Last time I checked amazon had the vx for 65 and free shipping and that is where I am going to get my from one of these days hahaha
Nope. The only thing I had to kinda force was the M4 screw into the holes. The holes arenāt threaded so when you screw screws in, youāre kinda drilling into it. While this isnāt an issue in terms of mounting strength, you wonāt be able to mount/remove the screws over and over; itāll wear out over time.
Amazon is where I got my VX as well. I was so glad that there was a Canadian option.
Ordered one of these badboys on Amazon yesterday, specifically the VX (360 version.) Itās coming in the mail tomorrow because I got an Amazon Prime free trial. If I can get confident on how to actually do it I would like to replace the buttons and eventually put in a JLF. Iāve never modded a stick and Iām a slow, visual learner when it comes to these things, but the good news is I know how to solder. Iāve honestly tried the site side search over and over and using google and searching āsite:shoryuken.com blah blahā but I canāt find a good walkthrough on how to do the mods specifically for this stick. Anyways, that can wait, I hear the stock parts are at least decent on these so I will sit on it for awhile. But in the mean time if one of you can throw me a bone (or a link) with some good newb friendly advice in it I would appreciate it cause I do eventually plan on doing this. Itād be especially amazing if one of you guys who have done this stick before could make a youtube vid on it, thereās a pretty big lack of vids out there on this stick.
Anyways I just canāt wait to plug this dude in and start playing some SF4 with my friends while I listen to rap music. Shout outs to everyone who posted in this and the other thread, you guys were instrumental in me making my purchase decision.
Recently got a hold of a VX myself. Stock parts feel slightly better on previous EX2ās Iāve played. Still, I went ahead and installed a JLF and Semitsu PS-14-Kās. I think I may just replace the microswitches on the stock stick and re-install it. For some reason the JLF doesnāt feel right. Donāt know why, but something deep down inside told me to put Hello Kitty stickers inside the buttons :D. The case is bigger than what I expected also. Good entry level stick in my opinion!

Laugh.

Hey guys, first post on this forumā¦been doing a lot of reading up on all the FAQās written here in Tech Talk, first i gotta give my thanks to everyone who did all the hard work for us and took the time to write up loads of helpful walkthroughs!
i picked up a VX a couple of weeks ago from a local import shop, since there seems to be some interest in finding these i thought iād let inquiring minds know that the shop i goto sells online as well and when i was in the store they had another VX and 2 V3ās in stock (according to the owner the inventory in store is the same online)ā¦that being said the VX on their website is still available as of today, u can do a quick search for the V3 if u need to:
http://www.estarland.com/Xbox360.cat..product.38160.html
price is the same as anywhere else @ $65, they ship worldwide.
right now iām waiting on my sanwa parts to come in, i havenāt decided whether or not iām going to just resolder the buttons to the pcb or attach DQās yet, iāll post up pix when itās done.
Someone should make a youtube video of their modding. I think it will help better than picture.
I just ordered one yesterday, Once my parts come in, Iāll document it.
Donāt know why youād need a video; the process is pretty straight forward.
Itās not as easy as a TE or whatever, but still loads easier than the Hori EX2. I would say about par with the T5 sticks.
scabby: The JLF probably feels weird because itās rubbing against the bottom of the case. Grind out a few mm, or mount without the metal mounting plate and you should be ok.
i got a hori vx-sa off amazon for 103 this past week. already comes with all sanwa parts much better then getting the vx and putting in your own parts.(even though i changed them with my clears anyway). more room and nicer stick. i like it more then my te honestly.
haha you mustāve meant $130 cuz thatās definitely the HRAP VX SA, yeah it is a much nicer stick out of the boxā¦but there is another thread for that!
no 103 lol supposedly the box was damaged⦠it had a bent corner lol its brandy new. i see i got a deal. 103 with 5 dollar shipping straight from amazon. No subseller
And ya i seen that after i posted lol sorry. i only posted cuz 108 is cheaper then buying a 60 dollar one then modifying it.
Hey man I canāt hate on that, u got a great deal that a lot of people wouldāve jumped on, grats!
I wish the VX came in a color other than white. I would buy the V3 in a heartbeat if it was possible to dual-mod PS3 controllers. But no dual mod=Dealbreaker for me. So I guess Iām stuck with the white VX. Well, unless I want to try and paint it. My last attempt at that was not very pretty.
The 6 button layout and small footprint is unbeatable, though. Nice modding platform for sure. I wouldnāt even want a VX-SA because of the larger size, 8 buttons, and Vewlix style start button. I want the compact VX with Sanwa/Seimitsu parts. My TE covers the ābig stickā category.
Hereās to hoping for a VX-SE⦠Hrm.
I agree the black one is more attractive out of the box but we got what we got donāt we? Still waiting on my sanwa parts, the stick is holding up my order
This maybe a silly question but it doesnāt hurt to ask, is there sometng more āconventionalā I can use other than spare change/screws to weigh this thing down more? Just having a brain fart coming up with ideas
You can Dual Mod the HORI Fighting Stick V3.
My V3 dual modded from a friend.
Itās currently out of commission because itās being repainted right now. So if I get the LS-56 with the longer mounting plate, it should fit right inā¦errr with some sanding of the bottom plate(apparently Seimitsu sticks sit a litter lower which cause grinding?).
I know some people soldered their new buttons, but it wasnāt clear to me if you absolutely have to solder newer buttons when you mod.
