Thanks for the bday love man. I don’t feel like an elder statesman, but fuck im 29:sweat:. Might have to trade in my car for a wheel-chair capable ride soon. Can they make walkers out of Platinum? Speaking of which hopefully someone has some platinum for me to try tonight! I’ll pick it up at months end when PSN gets back online.

We also never got to celebrated the anniversary of this community which passed about a month ago so I would like to do something for that sometime in the next month, still deciding on what though.

I got an early bday present last night: the screams of terror from cammy getting blasted by a face full of dreadlocks then juggled to death by successive blows of diamond encrusted boxing gloves. Not to mention the wailing of a broken, beaten and battered ryu after having by the safety of throwing clutch point blank reaction ultra’s and supers:rock: 12 straight and counting. Gonna be droppin the hammer on gief and hawk pretty hard tonight too. Just sayin:razzy:.

In regards to the training and stuff I agree Brian. Can only speak for myself but most of my knowledge comes from my own research and the rest is filled in by you guys whenever I have a question, or you make a suggestion. I recall a podcast from Aris (top level Dragonuv player) a while saying he won’t help anyone who hasn’t helped themselves. What he meant was he didn’t have time to answer basic questions that a player can find in two seconds from a tekkenzaibatsu forum or youtube video. With that it’s easy to see how the mentality of top level players can be misconstrued as pompous or arrogant. Sometimes lower level players don’t do enough on their own. You guys should check out East Coast Roast done by Empire a couple years ago it looks like. It brings up some good points. I’ll see if I can find it again and post.

It sure is. Extra visitors is an unforseen, but welcome gift as well. For future reference it may be a New Hampshire thread but it’s all inclusive so no need to ask homie, just come lol:bgrin:

I have one setup for SSF4 on xbox and have 1 xbox stick. If we are playing on PS3 I am going to need a copy of the game and some sticks for PS3 to utilize on my small tv. I prefer Xbox like most im sure so another box, game and two sticks will be needed regardless. Three tv’s is enough unless someone wants to bring a 4th!:tup:

Damn, looks like we will have more screens than we’ll know what to do with. Where are these things coming from? I hope you aren’t dropping coin on all these. We do want to help and will be super glad to do so. If you need help setting things up for the fight night and taking it down, the people that show up will more than gladly move tvs/stack chairs/configure tables. It’s mainly a DIY scene so just like how we are putting out flyers that benefit us and pwa, setup/take down is something that we can really help with to help both the community and venue.

I think the hard thing about going into the arcade to drop some tokens in some machines is not about actually spending money, but moreso about keeping tabs on our stuff. I bring a ps3, an hrap v3 arcade stick, and another arcade stick i personally modded to not only look awesome, but also to play on both xbox and ps3. As much as we’d all like to admit we trust everybody around us, we are all super protective of our gear. I’m more than happy to play the CS machine, champ edition, and Area 51 as I enjoy those games, but then I don’t know what is happening with my gear.

with the security concern I brought up earlier in this post, I have to ask: what’s involved with moving a machine to the room?

Also, I move for a tournament scheduled for the summer sometime not around East Coast Throwdown or EVO. Should coordinate with Super Bowl and GU, get a saturday or a sunday that isn’t scheduled as a corporate/birthday party function and charge that $5 venue fee per head–waived if you bring a setup that will be used. Maybe at this tournament the next machine to hit the PWA floor gets broken in as the mystery $1 tourney. We run AE, CSII, MvC3, Mk9 or HnK or AH3 and an arcade machine or some combination of that. Someone second the motion. I’m not sure how many games would actually be prudent to run BUT given the sheer number of TVs we’ll have we could go through things pretty quickly.

Regarding the security concerns Both John and I will either both or one of us will be in the room during the event to oversee gear and operaiton So people can go out onto the floor and not worry about their gear.

Thanks for coming out last night guys, it was a fun bday night for me and got tons of knowledge and some good games. Special shoutout to Tom, CP and CP’s brother (name?) for coming through and being cool peeps like normal. It was defintiely great to have you guys last night, please don’t be strangers!:tup:.

To throw a few things out there regarding PWA Nights, which quickly approaches once again in 6 days, how do you feel about the incorporation of a venue fee? Is there a right time to incorporate one? If so when would that be? Is it even the right idea? What’s a good price point? We had some discussions last night amongst ourselves regarding what would be the best way to move forward and it seemed that a majority believed (myself included) the way to go is tournaments.

Tom mentioned the uncertain future of Souper Bowl which means that those players will eventually need a place to get that fight itch scratched. CP mentioned Monthly tournaments, maybe even a Tuesday Night Fights “season” with full on rankings in light of the initial success being had with danisen. If we make this a big deal and spread the word from CT, RI through MA we are assured a good turnout with enough notice. That means venue fees and more noteriety for PWA…much faster too. I’m guessing it would also be a trickle down effect right into our regular non-tournament fight nights. Providing this is the correct direction to travel are we comfortable with moving for a June tournament before others are announced? Discuss.

i’m ok with a venue fee, i think like 3-5$ is acceptable. i also don’t think we should apply it until next month, due to the flyers being out that state no venue fee.
