hey everybody. who had a good new year? christmas? anybody? I did. played the slap the bag on new years and the damn franzia was gone BEFORE 9pm. woooo.
anyway, haggar for beast tier and dark phoenix for ruggedly-destroys-your-face tier unless you’re OCVing the team she’s on or you can somehow block her transformation burst (yeah… that’s probably not gonna happen). I went back and watched a bunch of the character introduction vids and… i’m really liking the looks of mvc3. she-hulk seems like she has absolutely silly air-to-airs and chris seems like cody–annoying as hell with absurdly good moves but dies on pressure. arthur seems boss but his jump (the best part of the game) is crazy floaty looking and he’ll need at least one strong assist to have a chance. Dante as the new strider???

I think peeps are burnt out and will reappear in force when some of these new titles are in high gear. It’s happening across most communities that I keep up with on the forums so its not just us at the moment. It’s also the reason why I am keeping the “Marvel Room” to just a single room and not multiple since I am not expecting much in way of crazy attendance.
Speaking of Marvel…Phoenix looks like she could be cheap, like half the cast so it will be oddly balanced. I am not excited by Keits saying Spiderman has a floaty jump like Dhal-fucking-sim ::Heart attack:: I sincerely hope that isn’t true. Haggar looks awesome, but those who werent in love with Final Fight or beat em ups obviously wont think so. Changing my mind about She-Hulk since she seems more and more like El Fruity with that stupid command run mechanic and Arthur is gimped since without a ground dash of any sort so im not sure what they were thinking when they designed him for the game…
New years was nice and so was Christmas, lots of cocktails and good food, just the way I like it…shout outs to how fail MTV is now btw.

i have mvc 2 artwork haha. i can make mvc 3 artwork but you would have to get it printed and get plexi.
you should pester them into getting AE, but thatll proly be pretty costly…

Dante is in every video cause he’s like the new captain commando-meets-strider. Dude has moves for days and is solid in every situation. Plus, he’s stylish as hell and has several HUGE, jrpg-style swords. If dark phoenix activates on me i’m just gonna auto-guard like a mofo. you see that shit? any move she does tosses fireballs everywhere. the hell you gonna do to that without a beam super or crazy good assist? I actually think this game might put a greater responsibility on the player, with regard to winning, than just picking an auto-win character. It doesn’t seem like Deadpool or Dormammu or anybody is really gonna wreck house universally. Moves seem to have appropriate start-up and most powerful moves seem to be interruptable. I’m gonna go bury myself back in mvc2 now so I can get myself ready.
edit: just saw that arthur can do the juggernaut glitch–gold armor and tag him out and it’ll buff all his assists. So i’ma start out with arthur, build dat meter, get him those gold chains, and tag his ass out for the Haggar manliness as the real point character.
do you have an idea how much is the AE kit? not counting the cabs?

Unless something has changed the timer on Arthur’s armor starts right where you left off when you tagged him out…don’t think capcom would miss something like that again given juggernauts old glitch. The assists seem to be TvC style so they aren’t as good to spam as they were in MvC2, but we’ll see for sure once it drops.
Phoenix can only go into rape mode with Max meter (5 bars!) and has to die to trigger it. When she resurrects her meter drains faster than Ragna in Blood Kane mode and she dies when the meter runs out so turtle up and push block or go all out to hasten her death. Anyone looking for dark phoenix mode other than as a last resort is dumb since conserving that much meter puts you at a disadvantage…this ain’t SSF4.
Dante is part of the new team scrub with Deadpool so pick whoever for your third and welcome to the most beginner friendly team the game has to offer. MvC doesn’t count weapons as part of your person, so people like Zero, and Dante have crazy priority and reach on their normals due to their weapons…easy mode spamming, scrub friendly.
I certainly plan on partaking in MK Rich so hopefully it’s good!

if you’ve ever been to china town fair then you know the cabinets they have all the most recent games on like sf and bb arent official cabs, so it’s mostly just the board one needs to worry about. i bet the dude could get a few of the vewlix kits that dude on here sells and make some sick cabs from those.
i was referring to umk3/trilogy–maybe mk4 if anyone’s interested. i’m gonna bring a setup to the marvel suite (both my xbox, and my n64) i have a bunch of obscure fighters that i can bring (some are actually good). i’ll bring that stuff tuesday.
just think of mk as a faster sf game but fun to play for more than 5 matches
