New Goukens: Ask a question get an answer

No he plays akuma and interesting because I joined them the other day lol. Seems like I’ll be getting some interesting down along the line lol

Ohhhhhh noooo bro. Dejoin immediately. Hit up SHQ is someone else. BOTB are boosters bro. Like, video footage boosters.

They just wanna compete so they fight people and if you beat them you get a message saying “you’re good, make a BOTB_Sunsunmcnasty account and add BOTB_ChevyStreet”. It’s pathetic.

Uh oh. Well I don’t care if they boost. I joined becsuse my buddy who i’ve know for a while asked me and he’s a really good sagat. If they end up doing some foul shit with me in any way then i’ll jump ship. Until then this is just a video game thing. I don’t care what anybody does. Thanks for the concern though brothaman.

wheres your xbl acct sun? miss them games homeslice

It’s still myxednuttz

but your never on it, always psn…what gives?

Rainingfire seems good (maybe their best player) but when I played him he was laggy as all hell so his skill can be questioned. I joined BOTB as BOTB Ghost and played for about a week for no other reason than just because I was asked by Chevystreets. I haven’t played as BOTB since and I noticed there were way too many members and way too many who really weren’t that good. I prefer going lone wolf or just making the Gouken Collective. Who would join?

shin sho deathsquad>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>sup wid it>

I do agree some of them could use some work.

suns gouken is legit, ergardless of the squad he rolls with.

Thank you good sir. That’s all that matters. I don’t boost. Too much pride for that lol

Good!!!

Is it worth dumping Ultra 2 for the breathing room when your being pressured? It only pushes far back enough to eliminate any chance of being grabbed but that’s still one less guess. Below a certain health threshold most Gouken combos will kill before the Ultra is usable in the combo string but there are still are a handful of exceptions (most notably AA fireball, backthrow and a corner senkugoshoha)

If I know enough about the oncoming pressure that I feel I could random-ultra, then I can probably do something with a better risk/reward.

Not worth it at all. If the opponent is right on top of you he can simply throw you out of it even after you activate. Anywhere else and he can block it, there will be a slight push back but he will still be in your face with a step forward.

If you absolutely are being cornered and are in the corner and need to get out, watch your opponents pressure strings and when you feel there will be a gap, hk gf parry/slide out. Even if you get swept or something, you’re out of the corner and can gain some space.

My best advice would be to block. It’s vastly underrated. People forget that when you’re blocking you can’t be hit. You eat a throw? So. You eat an over head? So. Small damage compared to the massive counter hit combo you will receive pushing buttons. Or the ultra you receive trying to ex flip out vs any competent opponent. Just block, weather the storm, be sure to study your opponents strings and if you deem necessary ex kongo when you feel you have the chance.

Work on your defense would be my advice. Learn that it’s not as bad as you think. No one is getting hit in real life here, you can eat an overhead or a few throws and be just fine. Learn to not get nervous. Whatever damage you take will be immediately reversed the minute you touch them with a cl.st.mp. Remember that we deal more damage out then everyone in the cast minus Makoto and Hawk. Eating a few throws or overheads is nothing. You don’t wanna eat 5 but, you know.

ok. against balrog. is there a reason why midscreen backthrow > ex palm on the player 2 side is near impossible to connect on the 2nd hit. yet on the player 1 side. anywhere on the screen. backthrow > ex palm you can easily juggle with both hits. what is up with that. game’s got wonky hitbox/hurtbox detection.

also. against bison. cl.st.hp > ex palm > dash in > j. mp > st. mk > demon flip reset/juggle on player 2 side is very doable.
but on player 1 side. same combo. but after the dash in > j.mp juggle would whiff.
what is up with the inconsistency.

however. juggle is possible on both sides if you use cl.st.mp instead of the hp.

seems to me doing ex palm on player 1 side travels a pixel or two less distance (on hit?) than if you were to do the ex palm on player 2 side.

?

Just fought an Adon for about 2 hours and won about 9/10 matches just by playing SUPER lame runaway game and outsmarting him with fireballs and really tricky HK Gouken Flips after hard knockdown. He got pretty frustrated and left.

So with that, I’m unveiling my new strategy. It’s called “GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE” Basically, whenever you are even remotely within range of getting hit by any move, just run for your life. Always be planning a cross up HK G-flip Parry at around 1/4 and 3/4 of the stage. The trick is to just train your opponent into thinking your being a lame moron, and then mix in the dash up sweep, grab, and a smart fireball game. Obviously, you have to punish like a beast and once you touch them, always go for mixups and make them guess.

I try to play unconventionally and just do stupid dash patterns at safe range and make them think I’m trolling. This will frustrate them even more. But always remember: as soon as you feel the slight bit pressured “GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE!”

I will let you know the results of trying this in more matches, but as I fight better and better opponents, I honestly think this is how to play Gouken at the high level. Just be an asshole, basically. What do you guys think?

This is unlikely to work against an adon who sees what you are doing and plays a lockdown strategy. They’ll play a fei-style game that pushes you to the corner and keeps you there. Gouken’s escapes are simply not good enough. IME, you have to stand your ground somewhat with f.hp, f.mk, and f.lk.

its like

goukens normals while retreating beat alot if not most of entire casts dj normals. Not many can chase him down and expect to win

How do I get J.mp to connect after dashing after EX palm? I’m guessing the timing is just incredibly strict, but I just can’t do it. Thought I would ask here to make sure there isn’t a trick to it.
