See, you misunderstand me. I wouldnt do it -
A) because Im not a serious female player.
B) because no way would they ever do something non-sexual like costumes next to disney characters.
C) I would only do pin-up calendars for Swing/Lindy Hop/Vintage clothing sites/magazines/organizations. There’s no way that SRK could ever do anything like this and be classy or non-sexual.
D) I think that if SRK did it, it would objectify the female players. I dont think theres really a way to avoid it unless it was just kind of a “shout out to the laides” type thing with “action shots” of them playing games. Which, as I explained, would be kinda boring. You’re stuck between a rock and a hard place, so why do it?

Why should you worry weither they mistake you as males or not? The point is that you are PLAYERS, not females. It shouldnt matter. And, you dont need to post pics to prove you are. You can gently correct them, and leave it at that. As for “well known” - sorry, I’ve been here just as long, and Ive never heard of you till now. Not even from the lips of other players. Not being mean, just stating a fact. I keep a decent ear to the ground too. Its cool to be a little proud that you’re a fem in a male dominated field, but it should be the field that comes first, and not the fem.
I honestly think the only reason pics should be posted is for hooking up for play at tourny’s or if you’ve known a particular group of individuals for a long period of time. Case in point, Ive known the peeps in this thread for years now, so a few months ago I posted my pic - HERE. Not to all of SRK. And I didnt post it repeated times for the attention of male sex-starved 13 yr olds. I call it attention whoring, and thats what it is. I think its pathetic, and really does not say much for the self-esteem or values of those involved. Besides, in the long run, it causes trouble. Even just posting it HERE, I got a bunch of PMs going “Hubba, hubba baby…yada yada…etc”. Call it my personal opinion, but many others agree. Thats WHY you dont see many pics of the serious female players. Its NOT that they’re not good looking, some are, and most are like me - decent looking, but that they have more important things to do, and want to be taken seriously as a PLAYER.
Also, I wasnt saying that you particularly do this. I have a policy of not naming names, and those who do it, know they do it. They can bring it up with me if they want. I’m always up for defending my opinions, and I could rip them a part. Some girls ARE here just for the attention, not the companmanship <my spelling is shit today>, not for the playing, not to support the scene. Its because they’re bored little girls with nothing better to do. Wouldnt have a problem with it, except that it perpetuates the problems of fems on SRK.

I see more girls playing SC1/2, MVC2, and Tekken than I do GGXX or CVS2, which are personally the games I like and play. I like SC2 also.

First of all, i never said i or my sister were proud to be female players. If we were trying to make a mark for being a female player, we would use all-female fighter teams like most girls. The idea it’s self doesn’t seem very smart, in my opinion. Girl gamers are just like Boy gamers.
You never saw how i was harrassed and teased because of people claiming i was a boy. It hasn’t been done to you, so you don’t know how it feels. A few people even got banned becauseof it, have you seen that girl gamers calendar thread? There were over 5 pages of people accusing me of being a guy.
That’s what i said on that last post your pic thread. Notice that i also said that i only posted my pic more than once because i was spamming too much(I posted my pic about 7 times and i posted junk posts about 30 times). Again, me nor my sister did not post our pics in this new Post your pic thread. We promised that we are through with posting pics on SRK.

We are religious girls, we do not do anything to attract attention from boys on the net or any where else.
We are 16 & 18 years old, and we do not intend on getting boyfriends anytime soon. But why should it be any different from a girl posting her pic her from a guy posting his pic here, I mean most girls on the other threads posted theirs for the same reason as the guys…

Trust me, honey, the odds of my sister and i being attention whores is the odds of us being guy gamers with sex changes. It’s just impossible and VERY insulting. One reason is because we have 0 interest in Guys, Sex or relationships…We’re almost like nuns.

To the guy who said that the girl gamer calendar was a bad idea, I want you to know that I was not posting it just for lusting or whatever. I was simply posting it to honor the ladies here kind of how the NBA honors Yow(for those who dont follow basketball he is the first asian player in the league) and puts him on magazine covers.

I was also wondering why most of the females never attend tournaments, with the exception of Tacochan and Rina. Those are the only pictures I have ever seen of girls at tournaments. That’s why the Mvc2 guys follow Tacochan in to threads Direness, she’s a O.G. 
Anyway, I know its a hassle ladies to travel ect, but Im sure many people would like to meet you and play you. This goes for all the girls on this thread.

Ok I just have to add my $5.25. I’m going to reiterate my opinions on this calendar idea. It’s dumb. You’re only focusing on a mere fragment of the gaming community. Yeah, I see the validity in your statement in that you’re trying to pay homage to female gamers, but in doing that you’d be going about representing the gaming community the wrong way. I have to concur with Gimpy’s statement in that it’d be a much better idea if you focused on the entire gaming community with various tournament and casual shots. Hell…if I had the resources and Inkblot’s permission…I’d start Shoryuken Magazine. You’d have articles on newly-released fighting games, interviews with famous players like Ricky Ortiz and Justin Wong. There would also be coverage of the female gaming community, but no cheesy calendar…just interviews and such. You know, I really respect the likes of Ang, Misha, Jen, Girldark, Rubes because I feel they are true to themselves and do not need attention like some females on here (no need for names). I refuse to support your calendar idea because it’s only one aspect of the gaming paradigm.
