just can’t sleep this evening. the family returned from So. Cal. a day and a half earlier than planned (today) just as I was heading out the door to work. things are slowly getting back to it’s normal chaos around here. thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for us during this time.

I have been seriously thinking in the last few days do I want to give up videogames altogether or not. I’m just not feeling the competitive spirit that much anymore and considering I am just absolutely sick of MvC2 and there isn’t much else that anyone is playing, I’m thinking of just not playing anymore. I don’t even have regular comp since Marcus is always playing, we don’t have a decent arcade near by ( it’s a 2 hour drive to a decent one), and I can’t really practice and learn more like I should. I’m thinking I should stick with it but I don’t know.
I can play other games besides MvC2 a hell of a lot better, but there just isn’t anyone to play. How I wish that I lived in a better city somewhere. Alot of my friends that I’ve talked to both male and female say I should stick it out and just keep working on it because I’ve got the potential and I’m a decent player. I don’t know, it’s just that I’m tired and burn out.
And for the record, I’m not even stressing about the bullshit that is people running their mouths. I’m secure in my abilities and my knowledge of the games that I play. I feel like, as long as I’ve been playing and as much as I strive to be a good sport about winning and losing, I think I’m pretty well known for being a good player just based on my attitude. I don’t think anyone can ever say that I’m foul with my games.
So ladies some hardcore advice please. I need some help in deciding the path I should take. Thanks.

anyways, I started summer school today… MAN my prof had to have been an elementary teacher. she made us write our name and explain it so everyone else can learn it.
“Hi. my name is Jeanatte. its a french name. means generous. I don’t know who named me but the nurse that wrote it down spelled it wrong (dumb bitch) hence the ‘a’ and not an ‘e.’ I don’t like my name cuz its waaaaay too formal and as you can tell, I’m not. you can call me Jen but only 2 people can call me Jenny or Jenna and sadly none of you are those 2 people. thank you”
that’s a tough one Rubes. well, I know not everyone is up and willing to move to a town with a decent arcade as their sole reason for relocating. “recruiting” others in your area might help re-ignite that competitive spirit in you. it’ll give you a chance to practice with others as well as teach & learn.
we all have to prioritize our time and effort in everything, including gaming. some weeks games are at the top of the list, some weeks they’re no where to be found on that list. If you can make the time each week to play, then I encourage you to do so. Don’t just quit simply because you’re the only person playing in your town. Getting burned out on a game is normal. By all means play other games too, but go back to MvC2 after a while and see if you’re still tired of it or not.
if you can make it to some of the larger tourneys this summer, even as a spectator, this might also give you some encouragement to keep playing.
ultimately it’s your decision to stick with it or not. and I’d hate to see anyone quit playing altogether.
Sakura- some places wont let you rent even if youre 18. You have to have records of good credit and parental permission/cosign, etc,etc…I know. It sucks. Your supposed to be an adult and pay taxes and work and be a good member of society - and you cant even fucking drink or rent a car!
Rubes - hon, I completely understand. I everyone hits a wall at some time or another. Just give it a break for a while, and come back to it. Maybe you need to find a disciple to the game, and focus on that for a while. If I lived near you, Id volunteer, but I think Im going to wait for the next game to start on like SakuraF once suggested.

I hated my name when I was younger. People would mispronounce it all the time or tell me they were expected an exotic tall african girl instead of me. I think Ive kinda grown into it. Maybe they dont get someone exotic, but they do get someone a little odd. The names gotten more popular because people in the Netherlands and Sweden and Germany have been naming their daughters (and cats) “Misha”, but people still always say it “Mis-sa” instead of “Mee-sha” …oh well. Its cute though, my boyf’s neice cant say my full name so she’s yell “SHA! SHA!! COME HEEEEERRRREEEE!!! BYE BYE!! I LOVE YOU!!!”
