Wow! I completely didnt know that the Choctaw’s had been in WWI as code talkers! How sweet! Like I was explaining to Ben-Ra the other day, Native Americans have always had the highest military enlistment percentage out of any minority, or really for that matter, cultural group I guess you could say. You know, I really got a sense of pride reading that article, although Choctaw is not my tribe. This girl Myra at my work - I NEVER would have suspected her of being in the army. She’s really just goregous and open and girl-next-door looking, but apparently she was top of her class and was one of the leaders. But it makes sense. Alot of Native American women join too, not just the men. Kinda makes me want to do some research into N.A. women in the military. It would make a GREAT English or term research paper.
This Friday is my “LASTEST” day at NCHell - THANK GOOOOODDD!! But Im really going to miss my co-workers, theyre just all really cool people for the most part and some of them I had just gotten to get to know. Hopefully I can keep in contact with some of them and find out when people have their babies and stuff. NCHell is like Pregnancy Central - I think its something in the fountain water. That’s why Ive been bringing my OWN bottled water. But its cool talking to the expectant and new moms, theyre all really excited and glowing and happy, and its a wonderful change to all the negativity that usually harbors itself in the atmosphere. Ive been working overtime like a bitch. 63hrs last week along. I could (if I wanted) work a 50 hr this week, but thats would just be stupid.
My little sisters been playing Soul Calibur!!! Im so excited! Im going to get a new stick just so I can play against her. She’s totally fallenin love with the game, Im so proud! Thanks Ben for leaving the game over here, baby!
TACO- I so happy you had a good time at Evo! You have to post more about it (once your over the sleep deprivation, lol!) I guess people are still of course traveling back from Cal, so I havent seen that much posted yet from people I know. Very sweet though!!

I’m heading down to Oklahoma that weekend for a family reunion and the Choctaw Labor Day festival. I really need to get out of Missouri for a few days and this may be my only chance for the rest of the year. otherwise I would have to be stuck in the liquor store all weekend if I weren’t going to Oklahoma

the research paper idea sounds good too. if you ever do one on this subject be sure to include how the Veterans are honored at the dances as well. one of the all women drum groups…The Mankillers (named after Wilma Mankiller, first female Cherokee chief) did a veteran’s song that is absolutely breathtaking. I’ll have to loan you the tape sometime.
I remember Wilma Mankiller from a mural set up in our school hallways in elementary school and her picture being up on it but not quite realizing what she did, lol. We have an all female drum group at the prison in Topeka and they did a couple of tapes. On Labor Day (the reason I was asking) the Shawnee County Allied Tribes in Topeka are having their annual pow-wow (doesnt it drive you nuts that their ALL ON THE SAME DAY?!?!) and was wondering if you had heard of it. My little sister is going to run for Pow-wow Princess of S.C.A.T. since our own tribe is taking so long in deciding when to start finding a new princess. I dont know that she’ll win, because the princess is often choosen out of families that know eachother, but it’ll still be interesting. My aunt’s coming up and is working on Jessie’s new regalia right now. But cool that your going to your family reunion. I missed ours this year.

Yep! Had a great time gambling and got the book "If Chins Could Kill"autobiography by Bruce Campbell… I wouldnt let go of the book most of the night. When someone (I was at swing set) asked or reached to see it, I’d snarl and bear my teeth. MY BRUCE GODDAMMIT, MINE!!!

Honestly, Ive only gotten to SEE Soul Calibur 2 thus far and not played it. The only machine we’ve got in this area is an hour away in one of the casinos (well, I guess I have an excuse for using my Ameristar Casino birthday “free buffet” card :lol: ) and last time we went, the arcade was closed and the time before, the diagonals were shit, and the people there are jerkoffs who wont fix them. But from what I’ve seen thus far - I like. Im kinda attached to Soul Calibur (1) at this point tho.
Hell yeah Bruce Campbell, love of my life (behind my boyf of course!!!). His book is kinda interesting to read as it explains the “birthing pains” process of his career - how he and his friends went from fooling around with Super 8’s to getting financial backing and press reviews and learning to “act” rather than mug for the camera… its not as entertaining as I thought it’d be, but still interesting. A must for any Campbell fan.
I tried it once when I was at SVGL. pretty fun. I know I hated SC but 2 is a lot better.
D9: I think the only pic taken with me in it (to my knowledge) is a pic I took with OB and neoKEN. I asked him to scan it as soon as he can. that was a while ago too. I should ask if he even developed the film. lol. >_>;
anyways… school sucks. 22 units sucks. but its funny since our school arcade is like a mini Folsom GR. haha. we were playing and some dude was all, “I hate those fucking Folsom players.” HAH! not our fault you suck more than us!! o_O;

yeah… our sticks suck too. like 1p sides likes to jump instead of dash and 2p side has a short that comes out 1/20 times. kinda funny… but not when you’re trying to play seriously. Storm combos look like those lp, lp, lp, lp, etc air combos minus any sort of short or lightning attacks. =| heh heh.
anyways, a funny thing happened a couple of weeks ago. being that this is Cali, we have the occasional power outage (and we’re never aware it’ll happen). so I happened to have my (old) PC on and BAP … no power… @ 1am. well my power comes back around 4am and dun dun duuuuuuun… haha. PC won’t boot up. great since all my cpu stuff is in storage. =p so for now I’m on my trusty laptop (going away to college gift). =| oh well. heh heh. good thing I didn’t lose any of my art… X_x
