Yeah that’s right! Tokyo! It’s time to spread out! I’m pretty sure that you guys know by now and If you don’t. Justin ,Omega/Neo Battlecat, and I live in Tokyo. No shit. . . and I just got another job extending my work VISA a bit more! I’m thinking of getting a house or a bigger apartment on the westside of Tokyo just outside of Shinjuku or Shibuya.
So I was wondering! Who wants to come out and visit? This is your chance to travel to Japan, experience the culture, learn a little Japanese, guys; you get too take cute pictures with a bunch of cute girls, girls: You have Never! Never-Never-Never ever been shopping like this before, go clubbing in the Roppongi and Kabuki-Cho, Yamazakiland, and do something you like to do on your vaction for a change. Like…I don’t know…Play Video Games!
If everything works out accordingly, I will have this all set-up by July. Why come to Japan and stay in a crappy hotel or an expensive place, when you could easy crash at a DOJO that has hi-speed internet access, video games in the house, “gamecenters”, Japanese Lesson:1.This is what the Japanese call the arcades it sounds like “GAY-MOO-SIn-TAH”, in walking distance or a short ride away.
Look this is just and idea, and I think it would be better if I showed you what I’m thinking of. I will post some pictures next week and I will be constantly checking this thread for ideas and new suggestions.
P.S. I didn’t find any DC-PS controllers for the DC loose goose a.k.a Fighting Sticks but I did find DC loose goose this week. For those who want one.
A working copy of a actual strange ass videogame. When you get to Japan it’s weird thing. I live in Tokyo now, but I’ve lived in Hokkaido and Osaka as well. All of these place are extremely different but for now I’ll give you the low down on Japan.
First off, let’s start with a little comparison. Atlanta is one of the biggest and cheapest cities in the world in term of the cost of living. Tokyo, is one of the largest and most expensive cities in the world. In Atlanta, I could survive off $300 a month bills not included, but in Tokyo you can blow a third of $300 = 30,000 yen in an afternoon easy. For example: I live in Kodaira which is 30 minutes away from Shinjuku (2 trains: Seibu-Shinjuku and Yamanote Line = 360 yen). The usually price at the game centers in the Shinjuku area is 100yen. So let’s say that you play about 30 times. I say 30 because there are about 10 or more gamecenters in that area and your prolly gonna what to check them all out. Now your prolly gonna get hungry out there. Depending on what you like to eat. Of course there are a slew of Japanese restaurants and I advise everyone to try them at least once. What?! You can’t speak Japanese. Well, do you have at least one of your ten fingers? If you don’t, that’s gotta suck when you play a fighting game, but if you do great! That means you can point at items on the menu. Most Japanese restaurants have vivid picture menus which show you what your about to order… or you can search around for a McDonalds which are located near most stations. So the cost of food could run you somewhere between (1000yen~3000yen). Then there are the “Capsules and the UFO catcher machines” beware of them. These machines have all the neat 3-5 inches fighting characters usually priced around 200~500 yen a capsule. The bad part is you can’t buy just one. It’s a trap. Your gonna end up spending around 1500 yen. Trust me. 90% of you will! Then there is the ride back home which is another 360 yen. So now let’s total that up.
Travel: 360 x 2 = 720yen
Food: 1500
Gaming: 3000
Toys: 1500
Total: 6720yen (Which is about $65 in USD)
On and average I say keeping about 2,5000yen on you is average for anyone living in Japan.
Yeah no problem…like this shit is too funny. Like I really need some folks to come out here hella bad. Like I can damn near promise that I can find anyone a job out here that pays about 1400~2000yen ($14-$20bucks) from the jump. Like right now I’m suppose to be at work right. I’m in my little cubicle waiting for my next student. I work in Ginza, which is kinda like the beverly hills of Tokyo. There are Prada, Gucci, and Coach shops for as far as the eye can see. And since pimping is a sport to me! This shit is mad crazy and then after work I can just hop to an abundance arcades or just roll to the club. Am I trying to brag? No, I’m trying to get y’all to think outside of the American box! Oh yeah! It’s just that was awesome! :encore:
Teaching English is your main stable being a native English speaker, but there are other avenues that can be explored such as bartending, private teacher, company sports clubs, bouncer, T.V. actor, radio, modeling, blah blah blah… but teaching english is your main stable but have fun with your other options.
But for purpose sake, if someones says its about 1000yen, just remove the last two zero and that american stlye…so 1000yen is about $10 bucks.
Man, there are loads of martial arts schools for you to join here. Man, there is about a school for everything here. Japanese ar fundamentalist. School is important so there are schools for everything and people go. I went to this gym and there was Hip-Hop dance class right? Why, was like 30% of the students of elderly age. No shit! but I can post more exact info on that later.
(FINAL ROUND)8 meeting at my crib on Friday at 9pm. Out of town people that are helping don’t need to be there but everyone else that plan on helping out for FR8 needs to be there!! See ya’ll on friday at 9pm sharp.
I won’t be able to make that, so please do me a favor - we gotta make sure there are at least 5-6 people to cover brackets each day. There’s you, I’ll take Leigh w/ me for the big draw, probably Colin would do it, Harry would prolly do it, and possibly Ted as well. That’s 6 straight up but we gotta make sure.
Sigh, I got to get to Japan. Some guys from Paradox went 2 years ago for Tokyo Game Show and told me they treat you like gods if they find out you make video games. I’m not going to have any time off for a long time as I’m about to go work at Sony in Santa Monica on their next big project.
Cost of living sucks in Santa Monica…1300 bucks a month for a one-bedroom apartment is going to suck
Hey! I’m sitting at my job again slacking off for another hour collecting another $14.00 bucks for nothing…Now really. I need folks to come out. This summer is gonna be the nasty! Please get your shit together and roll out. Jason (Washington D.C./Savannah) is coming this week. I get him to make a report and send it back.
Hey, I might pick up some extra cash and I want to make some bonus prize packs for FF8! I’ll send’em back with Jason if this happens! Who wants a schoolgirl? I’ll be sure to poke holes in the box for travel freshness!
yo… monkee… who is jason?.. i live in savannah and know no jason… probably do by face though… and i definately have the cash to go to japan if it is as straight as you say… though i would need some sort of hookup. translation would be best considering i made an 800 on my sat english(engrish) … ask jason if he knows a white kid that always beat up on the xvssf - mvc2 machines that everyone called vegita. pz out
Thanks I working on EMS avatar this weekend. Since I know how to make animated gif files now. It shouldn’t be that hard! Did you get the avatar I sent to MOMS email account too? Oh well in slummer news, I just got another job offer today and if I take it I gotta move to Kyushu Island Japan. They gonna pay a darkie damn near $3000 plus a free house to live in. But that means I gotta quit my football team. I don’t know yet. More news to come on this but hey this is life.KYUSHU
Yeah do that, I’m thinking the same way if I don’t get the other job I want. I’m gonna roll out to Kyushu hard. One sacking it like Ryu or Arturo the Greyhound Warrior.
