NEW DreamCast Emulator: nullDC v1.0.0 Beta (Runs games at FULL SPEED!)

bloody great job! The emu scene has bee quiet for a few years!

i have the game on my computer, but i cant find the dc_Boot.bin and the DC_flash.bin

i have liek 100 other Bin files but nothing else. is there something i have to rename

i have the game as a CDI file, but when i extract it there is nothing that looks like boot or bios or flash

i see 1 read.bin and stuf like that

thats because the .bins u need are bios files… has nothing to do with any actual game files, you run games from their cdi

just a warning. anyone discussing where to get images/roms/bios and how to get them to work will be banned without warning. i already made an example out of one person today. so please dont do it. i dont like playing the asshole role, but i will, in order to keep this website legal

anybody else have this weird issue where the 2D sprites look blocky? I noticed it in SF3 and MvC2, but it’s not there in the backgrounds of MvC2 and in Ikaruga.

its probably because you’re supposed to play the games on dreamcast with the TV 5-10 feet from the screen (not 1-2 feet away from the screen like a monitor). If you were to look closer at the games you played on a TV (like CvS2 or MvC2), you can see that those sprites are blocky too. Try minimizing the window… the sprites look much better after that.

that’s not what i mean. i meant that i actually see the sprites in giant blocks. they’re seperated with black lines. pixelation is one thing, but actually seeing them seperated by lines, and they’re also semi-transparent.

EDIT:
another problem
I’m trying to get it to work at school. I put it on the nullVR graphics, and it crashes. I put it on Chankast, and i get this…

That’s supposed to be SF3:TS. lol

Any ideas? This computer is a P4 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM, integrated gfx card. I’m THINKING it’s the GFX card not liking the DC emulator. It was doing it with MvC2, but i thought it might be because there’s 3D backgrounds, so I switched to SF3. The Sega Logo comes up fine, but the weird images start at the screen where the DC logo comes up.’

i think it’s funny that i managed a parry and a combo with akuma with the screen like that.

can anybody guess who i am and who i’m fighitng? lol

I’ve seen stuff like that with 3S before but not MvC2

hmm… lemme see how far i get with marvel, cuz i saw the same blue thing happen with the load up screen.
EDIT:
nope. :frowning:

I’m trying to guess who is the guy/girl on the left. The right is easy to guess but the left…

Thanks to the people (or person) responsible for this emulator. It runs very smooth for a beta and can’t wait to see what a non beta release will look like. Is the group accepting donations?

in SF3, it’s ken vs. alex
in MvC2 is cable vs. hulk

ok then ,who do I ask mysterious negging person?

bump this.

It’s your vid card. Go buy a decent vid card and you should be fine

since when is an 8800GS 320MB not a “decent” card?

a friend of mine is using an ATI X1600 and it runs absolutely fine.

Something about you saying “It’s your video card” made me go try something. I turned anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering OFF… and it works fine.

Fucking gay that I have to go and change it every time I want to play it though.

i think they are… go to their official forum and get in contact with razi http://forums.ngemu.com/nulldc-forum/

http://dreamcast.dcemu.co.uk/nulldc-netplay-beta-1-release-65674.html

according to this, the netplay for null dc has been released and i’m wondering if anyone has gave it a decent shot for mvc2 or 3s.

it’s laggy as fuck. thats all i can say.

it isn’t laggy for me, all my games go 60fps on the netplay smooth as fuck, it’s just that it skips inputs, you have to do motions and shit mad slow, it renders fighters like mvc2, 3s, cvs2 etc useless through netplay right now… will have to wait until it gets fixed.
