well i can’t say how the netplay is really until i play someone who’s located in north america… it was laggy because the dev is from greece and i’m in canada so yeah… but it was still pretty fun.
and yes, you have to have the exact same image, with many different scene releases out there you’d probably think when the netplay is implemented it’d be a bitch to get games going, but no worries… this emulator can play full .GDI rips so as they start coming out i advise people to replace some of their butchered(i say butchered b/c some of the dreamcast games back in the day were over 1 gig and those were the days when people would burn stuff to CD so some scene releases for some games have downsampled audio or things taken out to fit a 700 mb CD-ROM)scene releases with full GD-ROM rips so when the netplay does come theres no problems. you can find some on some torrent sites right now… “Dumpcast” is ripping them.
it isn’t quite server based like kaillera, hell it doesn’t even have chat or anything yet, it’s just barebone netplay right now. netplay was supposed to initially be in the first beta but the more stuff they implement the more it messes with the netplay so expect it sometime soon.
Why spend $60 when you can play for free?
Surely playing on a Dreamcast is more satisfying, imo, but I get your point.
Also people can play DC games on their laptops anywhere they go. Too bad I don’t have a laptop. And I’d rather play DC games through my DC console as well.
I need some advice.
I’ve got the games running on my cpu, so now I need to worry about getting a controller. I would really like to use my mass stick so is something like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/3in1-PC-Joy-Box-Controller-Converter-Saturn-DC-PS2-NEW_W0QQitemZ250106979310QQihZ015QQcategoryZ31215QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) ok? Or should I just buy the random controller I saw at best buy.
Secondly, even tho I’ve gotten the dc games to run, I haven’t actually tried out the gameplay because none of the keys on my keyboard will actually start the game. Maybe I missed it, but if theres is a command to start it without the use of a controller please let me know.
I’ve bought two dreamcast since the system has come out. My latest one just started to have bad loading issues.
Rather retire it and stick to emulation now than to keep playing it to death and I don’t feel like getting a 3rd system

Third strike works so well yet. I just tried SF3 double impact and only got a black screen after you select a game.
Booted up just fine and can hear everything though. Weird.
why won’t people buy a dreamcast? netplay. I have a dreamcast, love mvc2, but get no competitive action out here. netplay would be great

nullDC is a great emulator in its beta stage. it is so much better than chankast. check out my Marvel vs Capcom 2 demonstration.

no lag at all?
Nope. There were no lag issues and the overall gameplay was smooth, although I made some minor tweaks in the game. I actually balanced frames and sound synchronization by clicking on Options–>Aica–>Config–> and setting the buffer size to 1536 or 1768 before starting the game. You can’t access these options during gameplay.
Question:
Anyone have problems with Joy2Key? Once I set it up, I can’t get it to be recognized in NullDC. Actually, it worked ONE time, then I went back to configure the rest of the buttons and it hasn’t worked since.
holy crap that’s crazy. cant imagine how great the ‘final versions’ of it will be.
So I picked this up along with a cdi of Virtua Fighter 3 but I’m having issues getting this to work. Whenever I boot it up I get the set the time and date screen so I just hit select. But once I do that I just get a whitescreen. I read through the readme so I’m pretty sure I have the plugins so I’m at a loss.
