NEW DreamCast Emulator: nullDC v1.0.0 Beta (Runs games at FULL SPEED!)

Okay,so I’ve been trying to get this thing to work.I’m not the most computer saavy person around(Keep that in mind)

I downloaded the TDC Final v2 off a torrent site.

I got my bios, and flash files in the data folder.

I extracted the TDC file to my desktop

I attempt to open it as a Normal Boot

The nullDC window closes down on me.

What am I doing wrong?

This should be bolding somewhere on the front page.

If nullDC dies without any messages, chances are you need to update DirectX!

Where is the Dc_boot files? It says put the flash and dc boot files in the folder, but where do I get those files from and how can I get those files?

That shits illegal to post here. Just google it.

Here are pics of the 3 favourite fighting games running on Null Dc on my PC… enjoy…

two questions:

does nullDC support utopia for nonboot (i got a blank screen when running utopia)

am i going to have to convert my bin/cue roms to cdi’s to play them on nullDC?

step out of the stoned age son and just grab self boots from torrents
im pretty sure u can find any game you are looking for with a little bit of searching

unless of course your on dial up in wich case im sorry

Stoned age, hah

I’m getting nothing but illegal errors whenever I load an image and forces to shut down at start up. Any idea what I can do to fix this? Specs are Athlon XP 3000+, 768mb DDR ram, and NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go 32mb card. Its a pretty low end laptop, maybe its just not strong enough to run this program? Any help would be great.

^ Your video card is not sufficient to run it. Check the requirements.

Yeah I noticed. That’s the only thing that I think is causing the illegal error problem at the moment. Any other problems that might be a factor to this?

i would like to know if anyone can tell me if this is enough to run the program with sufficient speed…(normal basically)… i have a dell notebook laptop…and these are the features that are on it…Pentium ® M processor 1.60GHz, 512 mb of RAM and an ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300

is this good enough or would i need something more?

p.s- would i need something like damon tools if i wanted to use my own burned CD of a game?

will run like shit, and yes daemon tools. no pun intended but, stick to regular emulators

  1. "Recomended System Requirements:
  • CPU: AMD Athlon XP/64/Turion at 2GHz or Intel Pentium 4 at 2.6GHz or equivalent.
  • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 4 TI or ATi Radeon 8500.
  • RAM: 512MB
  • Operating System: Windows 2000/XP/2003
  • December Redistributable of DirectX 9c

The above requirements are considered as the absolute minimum in order to run the emulator as it was intended to run. The emulator might be able to run on systems that do not meet these requirements but with issues (like slow speed, GFX errors or Sound errors)."

  1. No. There is no 100% speed on this emulator using a disc. Its a known issue you must stick with nrg, cdi …etc images for adequate performance.

nulldc is great, way better than chankast. i got to test the netplay feature with one of the devs and played powerstone. can’t wait until it’s actually implemented… beta 2 is coming out soon but probably won’t have netplay.

The emulator should run fine as long as you’re running it off of your hard drive. I have pretty much the same specs on my laptop except my vid card is X200. IIRC the games run close to perfect speed. I don’t really recall since i use the emu on my desktop.

How was the netplay?? Was it direct connection or server based like kaillera?? Did it have the horrible kaillera lag?? How was the lag in general?

how does next play work? do you have to have the exact same CD image?

After I get a certain resolution with the window the framerate dies, but I think having it run fullscreen. Does anyone know how to get nullDC to run fullscreen?

yeah lol i figured that out today…even though i had ppl from here and CV sayin that it wouldnt work…it doesnt hurt to try…the speed is ok since i followed what the readme said about if system requirements were below the specified terms…so if anybody else has a computer like mine they should read the readme file before trying it out

Why people don’t spend $30 and get a Dreamcast is beyond me…
