Sorry for the double post, but I updated more stuff about Transformations and Story Mode. English version of the game comes out 11/22!! (Japanese is 12/1)
Agreed, on the Project Justice parallel. I’m not sure that it’ll be at a competitive tourney level, but it certainly looks like it’ll be a lot of fun and deeper than previous DB fighters.
Only real worries are about how we’re gonna get to play it stateside… I highly doubt a stateside release, since it’s a Banpresto game and not a Bandai game. Knowing Bandai they’ve probably already started Tenkaichi 2 for next year’s holidays. But hopefully it’ll do well in Japanese arcades and someone will take note and port it console.
Only hope is some arcades like Chinatown bring it over…
I really hope they don’t dub the game for the English release and keep the Japanese voices as opposed to the American ones.
Apparently, SSW2 is already out…
Anyone have a chance to play Supersonic Warriors 2 yet? Is it worth getting?
So I’m doing my usual adventure of finding match vids and all of a sudden I come across this. Chou Dragonball Z matches!

God, Android 18 is a beast. She just keeps doing her ambiguous cross-up.
Wow, the game looks incredibly interesting. I had saw the preview vids from the website, but after seeing these matches it could be really nice to see competetive play for it.
theres gonna be a ps2 port for it
Found a vid with combos for Piccolo, Freeza, and Gokou.
http://page.freett.com/benisuzu/movie.htm - Should be the 12/24 link.
Man…no vids with Vegeta yet :sad:
That crossup looks pretty vicious, thing is it looks like everybody can do it…plus is it just me or do some strings in this game initially look safe but prove to be EXTREMELY punishable?? Watch the Trunks v. Android18 vid at about 2:26 for an example of what I mean where she does a string into ki-blast only to eat Z-Sword from range ( and presumably he could have done worse had he had meter…i.e. combo into Burning Slash super )…this game still looks to be improving though, here’s hoping for more match vids soon with more chars…
At this time I’m unsure what to say about this game. Graphically it’s not on par with any of the Budokai’s, But the Fighting Engine seems to be a lot better combo wise then any of the Budokai’s. :nunchuck:
It almost reminds me of a 3d version of X-Men vs Street Fighter, Only with DBZ Characters and without tags and teams.
I’ll have to check it. :badboy:
Goku=New Ryu
Vegeta=New Bison
Krillin=New Wolverine
Yeah really. Trunks looks like the kind of character who will punish things that other characters can’t because he has a sword (which, of course, equals longer attack range). People will probably have to figure out which strings are safe on different characters and what they should punish with.
IMO the graphics are better. They keep true to the manga rather than the anime. And don’t you mean Vegeta=Ken. Lol. I’m sure Vegeta is probably gonna have similar combos to Gokou.
Damn…I’m really not surprised that Android 16 is a grappler. Big characters are ALWAYS grapplers.
Oh and check out the official site for updates on some combos and the opening.

Good thing theres damage scaling.
I just checked the most recent vids (cool combo man:wgrin: ). I really can’t wait to get this game when it comes to the PS2 in April 1, 2006.
After my disappointment with Budokai Tenkaichi, it will be great to play this DBZ fighting game.
New vids from 1/07 at http://kainuma.sakura.ne.jp/dbz/
Haven’t downloaded it all, but at least in the first vid Trunks goes super saiyan. Apparently it doesn’t last too long.
Chou DBZ looks hot, but where’s the Super Sonic Warriors 2 (Bukuu Ressen) love? So far I’m really digging the game, despite the fact that the secret objectives in story mode are a pain to figure out.
Finally, I’ve been waiting for new footage for a while. Freeza is pretty damn quick AND has a teleport. I wonder if he can do unblockables with the rocks and teleport.
…SSJ Vegeta is cool.
Super Dragonballz
The Game is being developed by the Street fighter Staff…will it be the next 3s???LAWL!
Well, it is being created by my almighty saviors, THE STREET FIGHTER STAFF, so it definitely has potential.
The game’s been released in Japanese arcades since December, so it’s been released. It’s even in a few arcades around the US. There’s a thread that’s buried, it should be under Chou Dragonball Z or something like that.
I’m guessing you’re looking forward to the upcoming PS2 release, though. Here’s some match vids if you want to see the gameplay.
Spent an hour or so earlier playing on PS2. Anyone care to explain the combo system and the flow of the game?
