No… You should find it hilariously perfectly normal.
Since no one else has bothered and gamefaqs sucks I take the liberty in naming them Broki and Shin Broki. Sagat being Broki because he’s kind of fucked up and Bison being Shin Broki because he’s even more fucked up than Sagat. Oh… And because they’re Broke!
I was just reading up on that MissingNo crap, it’s nuts. I remember it now from years back, but I’d forgotten all about it. It’s actually pretty awsome how it all works, it’s like there’s another 85 Pokemon even though they don’t even exist in the game… It was a good read. These characters may resemble MissingNo, but they don’t completely corrupt the game like that broken freak.
So I was playing around trying to see if I could find anything more about this oddity when I decided to try Zangeif and Dhalsim, the only two A2 Classic characters. (I think) I tried A2 Ryu vs A2 Classic Dhalsim to see if there was any effects when using the A2 Classic system, when I noticed something unusual. Some how, I managed to get A2 Ryu (with super) in his A2G Classic costume. I don’t know what I done, I know I was holding start and stuff but I couldn’t replicate it. I’m also not sure if it was Dhalsim, but I’m posative it was an A2 Classic character. Instinctively I went back to the character select to try and conform what I done, but it didn’t work. Could it be possible I had picked this character?
This is mashing my brain. I remember sitting there looking, thinking “Wait a minute… That’s not his lp costume.” I’m almost certain I seen a super meter aswell because I was confused as to why I had his A2GC costume. I then went back to the character select to see if you could pick more costumes, but I couldn’t, so I never tried him. I’m not sure what happened, it could have been possible I just picked A2GC Ryu but I’m almost certain I didn’t. Actually it could have been his strong costume, they look kind of similar…
Am I crazy or do A lot of moves just not work in DS(green)ism? like Deejay’s flashkick move or Fei’s tiger knee move…I’m going by the movement to do it and not a description of the move heh
GS-Ism is modeled off Z-Ism, it’s perfectly normal.
Something else I noticed is that on the score board you see between fights in Vs mode, there is no Ryu and Evil Ryu… Only Ryu. Even though I was winning with Evil Ryu, the scores where on Ryu, the only Ryu. So do you think they could both belong to the same folder on the disc?
I’ve got a feeling Ryu would be the default character, I was a bit confused about why both of them glitch, but if they belong to the same folder it might explain why they’re both effected. At first I couldn’t understand why it’s only A2, and to be honest I still don’t, but it’s starting to make some kind of sense.
Haha I don’t think I?ve ever played them in A/Z-ism, I only started messing with them in green ism lately, before that I was only playing them in Blue and V-ism… why did they take them out in that mode, but not others like V?
Damn, fucking hell, thanks Desk, I posted at gfaqs asking the very same question. I’d completely forgotten about that. I’ll see if there’s a reply.
Edit: Nope. I was curious to know if someone tried what you mentioned, holding start on everything. There’s never been A2 Classic characters for Bison and Sagat, I find it wierd how the code is there.
I PM’d Sirlin too but he never got back to me. I might see if Capcom-Europe can forward an email onto Capcom-USA. I don’t know how to contact them directly.
