I donated $208 because the next tier is out of my budget. What I really want is something from Valentine, cos she’s my main character. I know what I want her to say too, but I’m not sure how that’ll work, though. Like, can I choose which VA I want, or what they’ll say?

If I find myself with more cash later I might donate again, but it’s more likely that I’m already tapped out. ^_^

It says on the prize description it says message of your choosing. so yeah.
Hot diggity. I did not think I’d get to try Squigly today, but so far she’s fucking awesome! I’m having a lot of fun messing around with her moveset…PC Skullgirls is gonna be nuts by the looks of this. Load times are nonexistent, game looks fantastic, the in-game movelist is nice…yeah, I’m definitely gonna have to pick this shit up for PC. I’ll probably play it more on here than I do my PS3, actually. One of the few games my computer can run perfectly.

Any of you know what exactly Squigly’s QCF+MP does? Seems to fuck with positioning or something but I’m not really sure what I’m doing when I do it. The non-charged version doesn’t seem to do anything at all.

She is a blast to play. I really want to learn her now. Her super is pretty fucking intense too:

Levi shoots an orb, kind of similar to Dormammu’s fire orb super but instead of it homing in it seems to just float around randomly. There can be more than one on the screen even. But I don’t think I quite understand the behavior of it yet:

She even has a “get over here” move (in which, she’ll promptly shout those words sometimes too ). It can be charged, just like a lot (if not most) of her other moves as well. The charge doesn’t have a time window and you can hold it and move around with it for as long as you like before latching it onto your opponent.

If you walk while charging it, she jumpropes with it. Daww.

And last but not least, her crouching lp is adorable.

QCF+MP centers the camera on Squigly, which moves the edge of the screen (along with your opponent) toward her. It’s basically a way to bring your opponent to you, and to make a temporary corner anywhere on the playing field. Level 1 doesn’t zoom in as much and doesn’t last as long, while lvl2 lasts longer and brings the edge of the screen closer to Squigly.

Additionally, lvl 2 causes a super flash, which means the opponent is put into 8 frames of hitstop (last I checked, anyway.). This means lvl 2 is safer than lvl 1. Even cooler, it means that you can cancel your lvl 2 sing into your command grab super and the opponent will not be able to jump out of the grab after the flash (which they normally can). It’s important to note that the opponent has to be in range of the command grab BEFORE you do the sing, otherwise the grab will just wiff. In other words, it’s not a free command grab from anywhere on screen.

Squigly’s sing is a useful assist for characters that want to be close. It’ll probably end up being used a lot with Cerebella, Painwheel, and Filia. Especially against Peacock teams. Honestly, I think it’s a real game changer for PW, who has a really hard time getting in on people like Cock and Para.

That’s sick. Squigly’s turning out to be everything I wanted her to be. I’m probably gonna run Valentine/Squigly. How do you do her command grab? I’d look but I don’t have time to boot up my game right now.

Also, there’s a little grave that follows me around when I play her in any mode besides training. Can anyone explain?

@The Martian
When you tag her in, she busts out of the ground wherever the grave is.

Her command grab is QCB LP+LK, its an awesome punish too…cause u can follow up with cr. MK, HK to launch into a combo afterwards.

That’s godlike. I’m gonna be screwing around with her for hours once I get off work.

The new stage is awesome too by the way!

Learning squigly combos reminds me that I have terrible muscle memory. It’s going to take a while before I even download half the hits of her BnB combo in my head.

My execution is on par with Arturo’s lol

Liking Squigly so far. Been playing her solo just to reminds myself how to play fighting games again.

This took me a while to realize: If you cancel her charge attacks (by pressing another button) you’ll “stash” the charge, meaning if you full charge, then cancel, you can do the charged move afterwards with just the motion. And there’s only two stances to charge, all the moves that share the same stance, share charge too.

I’m having trouble finding a lot of use for centerstage in solo play, I think it is supposed to really shine as an assist. The Dhalsim like fJ+ HP is pretty awesome, though I may be abusing it more than I should.

Anyone know any good resets for her?

Lvl 2 center stage has solo uses. Like I mentioned earlier, you can use it to make your command grab unjumpable (this is important). You can also use it to combo off of a mid screen ground throw (cancel the throw into lvl 2 sing and you get a wall bounce into full combo). You can use lvl 1 sing after a midscreen throw to maintain pressure (you will recover before they do, and they can’t ground tech backwards). It’s also useful to bring in characters like Para and Cock, if you’re having trouble getting in on them. This is easier (and safer) to do with an assist (especially Hornet Bomber, Cerecopter, or a DP), but even solo it’s possible. Especially with lvl 2.

Oh, and I haven’t really worked much on resets with her, but stance cancels into low/throw mixups work. I do those right after j.HK restands (j.HK, c.LK c.MK xx stancel into mixup).

A quick LK divekick after a j.HK restand functions the same way too.

Sorry to be a scrub, but I can’t seem to find a good BnB anywhere and I don’t quite understand the game well enough to make my own. Where did you find yours, or did you make it?

I don’t play this game either, I just support it from the sidelines. I made this video just so I could play Squiggly since the only other character I would ever think to play is Filia, haha.

The video is awesome, but could you type out what u are doing exactly? I’m not getting a reset from doing the dive kick after j. mk (do u add a lk after that?), they can block when I land. Are u using a certain strength of dive kick? Also on that dive kick in the corner u impale the opponent, how does that work?

The notations in the description, and the rest is just a variation of that generic bnb. If you notice, it’s just the same combo + different ender. I was going for practical stuff.
Always Medium Dive kick since Light Dive Kick doesn’t apply enough hit stun to properly combo afterwards. The Dive Kick which impales is just the Heavy Dive Kick.

Also, remember you can only use the pull into stagger once per combo. The only exception is if you cancel the pull before they come next to you, as I do in the video with a super cancel.

definitely unoptimized I know. Just testing some things out with her.

edit: again, sorry for the quality, I recorded this with my toaster.

Just a quick heads up I’m giving to some Skullgirls peeps:

In light of the forthcoming major update for SG across all platforms, I’ve created a Facebook group. Anyone here is more than welcome to join. This group was made in an attempt to bring more SG players together to a place where everyone can easily share insight on the game, find people to play against, and to discuss general Skullgirls related content. I’ll be updating the page on a regular basis as well with news on the franchise, art, combo videos, ect ect, so if any of you have art or combo vids to share feel more than welcome to share them with everyone in this group. The more the merrier.

I’m hoping to bring in a lot of new and old players by the time the new version drops on all platforms, so if you guys have any friends who have a passion for this game, tell them about this group! The main goal here is to make it into a resource for new and old players alike, so everyone be respectful and insightful and we shouldn’t have any problems.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/541765629224128/

Let’s get this game the recognition it deserves!

Her Story Mode… Her F***in Story Mode. ;_; Why you guys couldn’t be so briliant with the other ones as well? I really hope this sets a new standard for them and now I’m hella excited to know more of it. Could reach BlazBlue tier.

Trying out this combo I came up with for Squigly. What do you guys think? Max damage I’ve gotten is 3768, average is 3700. This is on normal damage multiplyers. (x1.00) If you start it with qcf+mk, scales down a considerable amount. Max damage came around 2600.

s.LPx2>s.MP>s.HK>j.LP>j.MK>j.QCF+HK>Squigly Battle Opera

From there on, another free combo maybe? I dunno, I’m having a hard time finding anything to continue it with at that point that’s consistent. But if the other person ends up getting knocked too far away for your tatses you can just Center Stage them and it’ll keep the super AND them within close range and still juggle them.
