NEW "Blazblue Continum: Shift" discussion!

First off, I should mention that while this overview includes some tier information as well, but the current tiers are going to fall apart when the CSII patch hits.

Lambda: Is a zoning character whose more advanced/damaging combos involve getting relatively close to your opponent. Don’t drop them. Currently B-tier.

Rachel: Was a pressure/rushdown character in BBCT, where she could actually get kills from blockstrings (guaranteed guardbreaks if she got you to block certain things). Thankfully that has changed, but sadly she’s the weakest character in the game right now. It’s not that she doesn’t have the foundations of being good (she’s not Tsubaki), it’s that she doesn’t do damage. Rachel is now almost purely a defensive zoning character, and though she has good corner pressure and okizeme (it just doesn’t lead to any real damage).

Mu: Okizeme is her strength - she has the second best wakeup setups in the game (after Litchi), and the best meterless ones, thanks to having a projectile that keeps going even if she gets hit. She gets good damage off any hit anywhere, and amazing damage in the corner.

Litchi: Currently all-around amazing (second best in the game). Gets high damage and 50+ meter gain from all of her major pokes, along with carrying the opponent to the corner. Once there, she gets hard knockdown and the real fun begins. Using the meter she built on Great Wheel, she can then force her opponent to guess high/low mixups for 5 full seconds. Any hit leads back into the same situation.

In regards to Challenge Mode - it really varies by character. Most characters have made at least some progress since launch (when the Challenge Mode combos represented the best they could do), but Challenge Mode is still useful even in the case that something better of a certain hit has been found.

In terms of combo heaviness, you need to be able to execute on your combos for maximum damage. The execution barrier is rather low though (compared to GG, anyways). There’s a lot of footsies involved as well though.

Platinum is going to be released Spring 2011.

YEAH MORE WAITING FFFF YEAH

The Final Changes for CS2 Information is out on Dustloop.

So… WTF @ CS2. That is all.

Well, it looks like rachel is back…

I have been out of loop for few months due to badly delayed release of CS in Europe and now whem i’m ready to pick it up I see there will be CSII ? Is it only an update/dlc for CS or it will be another disc based game ?

There is a patch planned for release in Spring of next year for consoles to have it on par with Japanese arcade’s Continuum Shift II.

I wouldn’t worry about a brand new BlazBlue game until around this time next year. :stuck_out_tongue:

I plan on getting CS2 on PSP. I seem to play BB more on the go then on the 360 and PS3 anyway

Somehow, they happened to make the announcer even worse. Now everything is in Engrish (or something even worse than Engrish).

BBCS2 looks interesting. A lot of stuff seems toned down (i.e. universal 3C nerf), but I like how a lot of the characters are no longer brain-dead (Bang, Ragna, and Hazama in particular are much more interesting now, despite being nerfed). I wonder how the eventual update is gonna impact the challenges, though (since a lot of CS1 combos no longer work in CS2, and there are a lot of combos that are new to CS2).

O.O Jesus… What has Arksys unleashed upon us all?!? cowers behind zanshin George the 13th looks like the pain… The entire game looks a lot crazier now, quicker and more offense based and the such… Haku looks quicker and I like it though XD

I don’t think it’s going to be as bad as CT, though. I think this Rachel is just really good. Still not happy about the mid-combo fatal, though.

I’ll just leave this here. Thought I’d share.

A combo video I made, check it out if you like Noel, or Fort Minor.

Was gonna ask why it’s so dead in here, but noticed Luna post his Combo vid, so I figured I’d do the same with mine.

i just got BBCS for the 360 the other day… just in time for the CS2 patch… not much people play online? just encountered the same 2 guys yesterday again and again… hehe but at least i can actually play the game! (unlike MK)

As far as I know plenty of people should be playing it(at least the people who enjoyed BB) anyone who owned it and didn’t like it or couldn’t get into it, or utterly sucked at it, probably put the game down for good or an indefinate period of time. And if it’s rank match your refering to, some people are probably sticking to player matches in order to get practice in for the new system changes. At least practicing so they won’t get raped by god.

So how does it work in relation to the extra character DLC in CS? Do you end up paying for them again?

It’s just a patch. If you bought any DLC previous, then that DLC stays. Any DLC you didn’t buy, you don’t have. The patch is the CS2 changes, but does not unlock Platinum (or any other character for that matter), so you’ll need to buy her separate if you wish to play as her.

Hello guys, sorry for this ultra n00b question but is CS2 a FREE DLC? so i only need to buy Blazblue: Continuum SHift 1 and wait for PSN to download CS2 for free isn’t it?

Pretty much. You only have to spend money if you want to play Makoto, Valkenhyn, and/or Platinum.
