NEW "Blazblue Continum: Shift" discussion!

Pretty much my stance on it. I’m fine buying the downloads, as long as a new disk with another character or two only available on it doesn’t show up.

Why not just wait for a price drop then? That’s what I’m planning on doing.
If a GotY edition is released, then it’d be mostly for those that didn’t get the game when it was already out.

Picked it up from Gamefly for $26, so I’m good with what I spent. I’m not complaining about buying downloaded characters, or maybe even paying for the balance patch, which I’d hope they’d do for free anyway. But its still about $50 to get the complete package. If a GOTY edition comes out next year with all of the downloadable content included, that’s fine, but don’t put one out with all the downloadable content, Kokonoe, Jubei and Torakaka playable and new art galleries.

Some Stuff I gather from Dustloop and others about Platinum The Trinity. [I guess I’ll post it here.]

  • Pressing the D button will randomly select one among 6 types of equipment/modes for her staff. After selecting, various techniques corresponding to the staff mode can be used (with certain restrictions).
  • The following staff mode is notified at the bottom through the symbol next to the word NEXT
  • At the beginning of the match she doesn’t carry any staff with her (probably meaning that you have to press D to make it appear)
  • Everytime you push D with the equipped staff the number of times you can use the associated technique will decrease until the staff disappears becoming unequipped.
  • Pressing the D button again once the staff has disappeared will make it appear again with the next type of equipment.

The type of magic equipment are:

  • Bomb (6 times)
  • Neko (5 times)
  • Bin (4 times)
  • Hammer (3 times)
  • Missiles (3 times)
  • Frying Pan (4 times)

Character’s Features:

  • Good speed, good airdash
  • Her airdash covers a lot of range, giving her the possibility of comfortably attacking in the air without falling easily on the ground
  • Since her attacks with her staff don’t have a long reach, her special projectile moves do the job of covering long range fighting instead.
  • Since her special moves are controlled randomly, she is a character that heavily depends on the situation she’s in (TLnote: I guess it’s referring to what power she has equipped, position, situation etc)

Basic Moves
5A a handclap. short reach, looks cute.
5B side swipe with stick/staff. long reach
5C strikes with staff. doesn’t seem to hit diagonally above?
2A attacks with staff’s handle (?) short reach
2B scooping motion on the ground with staff
2C thrusts staff into ground and the heart shape attacks the opponent possibly for anti-air? (i think he/she means it’s like jin’s 2d)
6A smacks diagonally upwards with staff’s handle. probably for anti-air. can jump cancel
6B hip attack. hits mid
6C spins with staff on the spot. FC. 6C> JC like Ragna
3C trips opponent with the shaft. can otg
4/6 BC summons a massive bell to send opponent flying. wallbounce in corner
jBC uses the bell to bounce opponent directly beneath her. can follow up with other attacks
Hammer upgrade
The 16t hammer upgrade: jD breaks 2 primers, one on toss, one on it landing.
Special Moves

  • Dream Sally (214A/B/C)
  • Swallow Moon (j.236C)
  • Mami Circular (236B)
  • Air Persia (236A - also executable in air) - followups A/B/C (up to three times) - tramples down the opponent from above with her pogo stick; the followups change the landing place, while the C followup is an aerial ender that earns more damage and okizeme.
  • Dramatic Sammy (41236D) - command grab: searches for the opponent while ground-dashing; grabs and imprisons the opponent inside a “heart” and blows it off. 1500 Damage.
  • Mystique Momo (214D, when weapons are equipped)
  • Foreign Melody (22C on knocked down opponent); it might be possible to push the opponent towards the corner from the slide down

Distortion Drives

  • Miracle Jeanne (236236D)- install super, the staff is equipped with “enhanched magic”, can only be used once and when it wears off the staff is unequipped
  • Cure Dot Typhoon (632146C)

Astral Heat

  • 236236C (omg Nanoha)

And we are still waiting for valkenhayn here on XBL >_>

The delays have just ruined his hype for me, real talk.

New match-up table-
BB:CS Match-Up Chart
Poor Rachel and Tsubaki =(

Hory sheeeeeeit.
Hazama is top tier now? When did this happen? I guess people are finally realizing how to play as him. And when did ragna get pushed back to mid-tier again? D:

hey guys, cleaned up a little bit in this place. would like to see more life in this section although I’m already aware 90% of people that play this just use dustloop. It’ll be good for people that are just curious about the game to have more active people in here to talk about it with.

I’m just glad to see Tager not be on the bottom.

That tier-list was made by Dustloop for Dustloop. It’s not Japanese, so if that has any bearing on whether or not you take it seriously. I still think its pretty accurate, there are some things about my character I would change, but its still pretty legit.

The wheel of fate is turning! BlazBlue is freakin awesome!!! RAWR!!!

Anybody got news as to what they’re doing with Rachel for the CS2 patch?

dunno, I know rachel is getting hella buffed.

The opening for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II has been uploaded to YouTube.

You can watch it here if you’re interested. I must say it’s easily the best one they’ve ever made for the series.

Didn’t they make a petition to make BB into a anime? Or at least a OVA?

Toshimichi himself said he was thinking about it.

I want to see a Guilty Gear Anime first.

Oh. I’m just asking this but…
When the BBCSII patch is out for consoles, is the story line going to change?

I just hope ASW change the Challenges when the BBCSII Patch releases.

Let’s get an SRK BBCS room going some time. PS3 peeps, add me; my PSN is Star-WB. Need to start playing dat Valk.

Hello everyone Im new to the BB scene (just got it today lovin it so far) but ive been playing fighters competitively for quite a while now. Just wondering if i could get some input regarding characters and such so here we go. So far the characters im interested in are: Lambda, Mu, Rachel and Litchi. My exectuion skills are pretty good as i used to main Viper and Gen. just wondering if anyone might be able to list things like what the characters play style is (rushdown zoning etc), if they have a high learning curve, and what characters they are most like from ssf4 (if you can draw a correlation). I already know Rachel and Litchi take some good execution, but other that that, i dont know much. Also, is this a game where learning the challenge mode combos is all you need to know regarding combos / BnB’s ? or are there standard BnB’s that arent show in the challenge mode trials ? Lastly, everything ive seen of this game seems like its extremely combo heavy (kinda like a 1v1 mvc2 or something), is that how most matches are played with most characters ?

Got the game a few days ago too. What I did was just pick one charac at first (Noel) finished the challenges then looked up dustloop. Pretty much all the BnB’s listed are there on the challenges, only the combo starters differ.

One familiar thing from SSF4 is FADC (Rapid), you can do it with 50meter by pressing A+B+C. That’s about it.

But man, I gotta say BBCS is extreme and a whole lot better than any fighting game I’ve played. Love it. Haha.

EDIT:

And just for comparison, most SSF4-like character would be Jin = Shoto + Chun + EX bars
Noel = Ibuki + Viper + Cammy
Tager = Seth + Gief

I wonder who else, everyone’s just too unique.
