NEW "Blazblue Continum: Shift" discussion!

It took me a second to figure it out, but then I realized that large hole was Hakumen’s new barrier move. Freakin sweet! I thought it was Rachel’s move originally, because it looked like her staff pole fell out of it.

RAgna has a new down attack, i thot that europe was getting 4 mre characrters for the regular blazblu, that should become dlc for american players

More than likely, Anything that’s considered a projectile (Jin’s D moves, Litchi’s pole, Noel’s gun, ect.) would more than likely be affected by this. This can create some pretty interesting scenario’s. You can’t just walk past the barrier, right? So say if Noel is rushing you down, and catch one of her guns with Haku’s sword, you effectively just alleviated Noel’s pressure, gained meter, and limited Noels options to get to you (She either has to jump over it, or damage it enough to break it, Or she can optic barrel)
Pretty sick, I think

I also bet the barriers will be color specific depending on that pallette you choose, like the drive shields.

Reason: The barrier looks like a “void” it’s black, then reddish orange, then white. That hakumen’s colors are black, red, then white.

So the barrier is kind of like “the white void.”

I bet if you choose default, his barrier will literally be a white void, with a dark blue, almost black exterior, then light blue.

That’s cool. Here’s hoping that all projectiles are color-edit specific.

I just wanna see some Tager/Carl loketest vids. Then I’ll be complete:rofl:

The thing is, how do you swat down those things? Currently, I don’t think Hakumen can stop Nu’s swords by just slashing them (and if he can, he would have to have ridiculous timing) or Noel’s invisible bullets. And I’m imagining Carl’s laser to be akin to beams from Marvel games.

Of course, he can D parry all of those things, I guess.

Heh, that reminds me of that movie “Don’t Be A Menace” with the Wayans Bros. One of the brothers color coordinates his guns with his sneakers.

In the video of Rachel v Hakumen, the match starts off with Hakumen doing some type of new sword “poke”. Looks like it’s that new move I’ve been hearing about (similar to Litchi’s staff poke).

You can destroy nu’s swords with Hakumen’s Cs. The reason you never see it in a real match is because, okay you destroyed that projectile, now you’re at -11 frame from across the screen, then you just eat a counter hit D sword on your recovery into a combo.

However, every now and then, you’ll se a hakumen do a falling J.C just before they hit the ground to kill a projectile (and they land so the recovery on J.C is instantly nullified.)

Hard to do though. Very hard, and not worth the risk. You’re better off just Ibing her blockstrings then 6Ding the overhead sword on reaction

Noels “bullets” aren’t invisible.
Like, when she does 2C, the explosion that comes out of her gun is counted as a projectile. Same goes for all of her C moves.

No new Bang Special? Are we Heroes of Justice missing out?

I am Def Stoked about that new void move. It looks like it going to help him against the spam of swords from Nu and other projectiles for the other characters. I just wish they added more then 2 new characters is the only thing i am disappointed about. :bluu:

well, in vanilla BB you can j.C her swords so the landing will keep you safe, thing is it normally wouldn’t matter since she could still continue her string. The barrier will probably change that. But even then, since her sword combos and chains are slower, it probably won’t be anywhere near as big of an issue in the first place.

I’d say the barrier will possibly be more important vs Arakune than Lambda.

Damn, I just saw the void move and I saw that video before haha.
badass is all I gotta say.

Creating the barrier void against NU seems a bit tricky in theory. However, we do know that the void does do some type of damage if touched by the opposing player. What came to mind for me is when NU does that standing multiple knife throw move (I think it might be 5d? Not sure).

When she does that move, she cannot move until all the knives come out of course. That being said, if she does it and whiffs, I’m thinking you can C slash creating a void that instantly hits her.

If this is true, that may potentially be a nice setup to punish…of course depending on what the void actually does when touched by her. Since she’s in the middle of doing that move, I assume that the void will actually count as a counter of sorts.

Who really knows yet though. Although, it’s pretty fun speculating on all of this new stuff.

It’s 5C, BTW.
But yeah, I don’t know. A good Nu player would only use 5C after an Act Pulsr to lock you down/Cross you up/Mix you up with 5c>2c>ect. so to catch someone wiffing a 5C unless they’re scrubby is pretty tough, as far as I’m concerned.

^^^

Yeah, higher level NUs don’t just throw that move out at random. I see a lot of mediocre NU users do it all the time though. I more or less just felt the need to speculate on the void and what would happen in that situation…as unpractical as that scenario may be.

You can also stop the swords whenever you want (you get one sword for each time you press 5C). A good prediction on 6C from Haku could stop 1-2 of those swords and then hit Nu in the face, so a Nu player would probably never just sit around and use 5C. More than likely, Nu will jump back and try for j.2D, which is why I think Haku would have a hard time nailing the sword.

Yeah, I think the only real thing Haku could hit from Nu is her new 236D on wiff, since it kind of stays there in the ground. Also her 214D could be hit, but I think it got a bit faster this time around, so I don’t know.

First vid of Tager from the loketests. 4D looks kinda weird but seems really useful, Rocket Finger looks awesome. The guy has a lot of videos uploaded from today.

This one stood out to me, Lamba vs. Carl. Looks like he could do some nice offscreen projectile shenanigans, then again he also might end up shouting out the move and you just can’t hear in this video.

Good shit dude, it’s like an overload of info!
Gonna watch a ton of these vids, then do a little writeup.
