NEW "Blazblue Continum: Shift" discussion!

The entire loktest summary for me:

Haku: God tier
Bang: Semi-God
Tagar: Beyond god
Noel: Nerf
Rachel: Trash

OOT: Oh wow didn’t know you post here, I played you so many times on Ranked =p GG on those.

Love how you have Tager in “Beyond God” Tier, but below Haku who’s God Tier
xD
But for real though, I wouldn’t say they’re any “God Tiers” at this point. I don’t think there were any God Tiers in the first game, I called it Broke Tier, they weren’t good characters just broken characters.
I’m with Milk on this one, so fucking excited to see Hazama in action, and to see how he stacks up with the rest of the cast
Here’s to Jin being un-nerfed this weekend
:u

Hey guys
stop talking tiers about a game that

1.you have never played
2.Is still in development
3.Was only playable for a day so far.

We’re on a discussion board about fighting games, posting in a thread about a fighting game that doesn’t fully exist yet, and you’re complaining about people speculating. Good work.

yea me and my brother are looking forward to him too he is awesome. But i will probably still main the white void

Hmm… I’ll probably still main Arakune despite the changes, unless they announce more new characters (I’d definitely give Valkenhayn and Jubei a try, not too interested in Hazama and Tsubaki TBQH)

The distinct impression I got from reading the changes, is that they are doing the extreme thing with top and bottom tiers and seeing what people do with them.

Rachel and jin are the only ones that look extreme to me. Nu and arakune makes sense in a way.

Exactly. They’re seeing what they should keep and what they shouldn’t out of all the nerfs/buffs for each character. Personally, I think Haku’s new move should go, or they should at least tone down the speed/damage. 236a>4C>236a = 4K??
Insane.

I wouldn’t say Jin got it EXTREMELY bad this time around, his new DC property is insane, a faster 6D/2D is pretty awesome, there are a few things that need to be ironed out by the next test (No knocked down on B ice car AND leaves you at a frame disadvantage on HIT???) but there are some things in there that really excite me with Jin.
Nu and Kune still seem like pretty good characters, especially Nu (Lambda, no-a-days) Overall, she just looks like a really solid character this time around, nothing overly cheap or chessy. Kune still looks good as well, with all his new ways to land curse (fill curse meter) I wouldn’t be surprised if he stays in the top 3. From what I’ve read/head, I think they may need to turn down his FEVER mode just a bit. If there gonna make the bugs huge, they have to down their damage (Even though they can’t guard crush anymore so, eh, but can they take your Guard Primer down to one and then like 1 hit from Kune crushes you or what?)
And if his ADC stays intact, there’s still gonna be plenty of reasons to fear that big, amorphous blob.

Arakune still has a lot of tools to be good but he doesn’t appear anywhere close to being broken like he was in CT. Not so sure if he’ll be top tier still.

2B lost it’s anti-air properties, no dive cancelling shennanigans, 6C loop damage is scaled significantly and all dives are no longer overheads. A lot of his normal tools he had in BB were nerfed considerably and his drive no longer curses until he reaches feaver mode. Most of the D moves were fairly easy to avoid as well and none of them are high/lows so he lost a lot of his mix up game between that and dives. You’ll be able to maintain steady pressure on Arakune and he’ll have less means to get away now that he can’t get into full gear after a random hit from a D move. Based on the percentages looks like he needs to hit you at least 4 times with D moves to get fever mode, which is going to be hard for him. He still has the clouds and apparently the fog gives him 40-50% curse meter which is kind of :wtf: at the moment. Granted, he should be able to fever mode at least twice in a round considering it’s pretty vital to his game. If he only lasts enough to do fever mode once a round it would be pretty overpowerd/weak and boring for the Arakune player.

Jin’s balances were pretty good but there are still a few questionable things they did with him. However, all of his D moves getting faster start up times is great and in combination with his new dash cancelling it gives him better zoning and new pressure tools. Plus 236C is shaping up to be the new CSE so his oki game could be really good. He may still be an overall rounded character but he won’t be close to being top tier status. Probably, a solid mid tier character.

what is haku new move does anyone have pics of it or a video possibly that would be pretty epic

Yea, there’s a pic
As you can see, it reaches really far, does a lot of (what I’m assuming is) un-porated damage, and from what’s been reported it’s very fast

That is some crazy reach. If the move really is very fast it could be extremely powerful.

Litchi’s 6B is hard enough to deal with as a Carl player so I am not looking forward to Hakumen’s new 4C. :annoy:

It also has good recovery on it so it sounds like a BS move right now. Should be similar to Faust’s stab and pull special.

You forgot to mention you cancel it into shippu like you can do with 6C.

Imagine getting hit with that, then losing half your life.

I AM HAKUMEN!

AEIIIIYAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

stabs

what’s even more insane, that at midrange like that, they made 3C safe and you can combo into it without a counter hit (5b had hit’s hitbox heightened.)

So… You’re at midrange, afraid of the 4C -> Shippu ToD. Then all of a sudden -BAM- you’re swept by 3C then combo’d into 5B then you’re in the air and Hakumen’s slicing your face off.

Shudders
Jesus man, that’s rough, I mean really those two moves cannot exist together. Either they give him 4C with more active/recovery frames, or give him safe/special cancel-able 3C.

The more I read, the more im excited about the changes toward my two favorite characters(Carl and haku )

I agree, Teebee. I read the exact Carl info everytime, but my level of hype just keeps going up!

btw, Teebee, I say that there’s a 95% chance that Carl loses his Kara-cancellable iad and/or his new (very good) laser projectile in the 2nd location test. I am now sad.

thanks QwertyHero and that moves looks pretty nasty i am not going to lie, i am deff looking forward to the new game i just wish they would throw some more characters in there but i will still get it when it comes to the states
