Let’s not ruin this thread with SSFIV talk.
Why is carl sad? Even though he lost his infinite, his overhead and his ability to jump cancel 5B and 2B on block , he could still pretend to be the new V-13. He’s got a fast projectile that reaches the corner now, so we might be able to play a decent zoning game. I’ll call him Carl-13 until they remove what seems like too good to be true.
Plus, he’s still got his ability to kara cancel his IADs (I thought they’d definitely remove that), so learn it, then spam it, and mix it up with normal IADs. Baits antiairs and is safe; It’s pure comedy when you’re actually playing against one of the characters that has a good DP and they rely on it, only to have them scared outta their mind to throw it out, even when you’re flying around the stage.
I’ll admit, without his infinite, he’ll definitely drop in the tiers (top level play), but at your local arcade(s), gaming hangout spots, and PSN/XBL, Carl will still be a strong contender. Unless, of course, they removed what I said seems too good to be true; fast projectile that reaches the corner seems spammable to me.
I’m tempted to jump in, I really am. But for the sake of the thread, I’ll pull back.
Any good videos of loketests in action available? I want to see some of changes in action myself.
AksysGames are such a tease

There is still hope, KOKONOE!
I think every known NPC from Calamity Trigger stands a chance for the final spot. I won’t even try to guess anymore, lol
awesome, +1 kokonoe
I hope you’re right. I just started getting better with Carl. It would sad to learn everything over again. Then again, everyone is in the same boat
Augh I’ll seriously never play BlazBlue again if Kokonoe is put in the game over anyone else. Everyone else is at least more interesting.
In the case it does happen, feel free to continue playing CT while everyone else moves on to CS.
I can’t fathom Kokonoe being a good character in BB: CS. Her design is cool and all but what the hell is she doing for a fighting style that doesn’t end up looking gimmicky. I for one would prefer it if Valk gets added in but there’s a ton of people who want Valk and would probably main him if he plays remotely like Slayer. I don’t want to jump on the band wagons with the new characters at this point but they seem less subjected to balancing issues as they are brand new and could potentially be broken in some way. If the nerfs don’t get fixed in CS then I’m maining Tsubaki with Jin as an alt.
In the off chance Valk is put in the game and he plays NOTHING like Slayer, then what? lol
Seriously, no one had the slightest idea how Tsubaki would fight until she was announced playable. Same would follow suit with Kokonoe. “I don’t know how she would play” isn’t in the least bit a viable argument. That’s up for ArcSys to decide anyway.
Holy **** no rocket attached GIGANTIC TAGER’S flying around but they compensated with crotch beams for Hazama.
Oh god the shape on the end of the chain and his expression…
Definately going to try to use Hazama when CS comes out.
Thanks! New screens are awesome! Hope we Europeans will get this version
Those hq screens show that both Tsubaki and Hazama have drive meters. Interesting
Good find, Milkman
Maybe Hazama’s chains are limited by his?
Look, just add kokonoe, give her a giant anchor, but give her machines instead of dolphins, and make her a charge character… and i’ll be highly satisfied satisfied.
Or else there’s Jubei.
what the fuck…did they do to the character designs…they look all little kid like and shitty…and why does tager look like beast from x-men…rharrrgghhh. jin and ragna also look dumb as hell now, i am officially pissed!
Color me surprised, didn’t think they add another character.
It’s pretty much a toss up, at this point. Hazama and Tsubaki were shoe-ins, but as for a 3rd character, I just don’t know.
Quick comments:
Hazama’s chains obviously aren’t unlimited, I’m just wondering if the regenerate, or if they stay on the field once you use them.
Haku’s new move looks sick, goes madd far and is probably fast as hell.
Really enjoying the general makeover the game has gotten, looks a lot cleaner and easier to understand.
Still a bit confused as to Hazama’s size, he looks a little bigger than Tsubaki, which would mean he’s about Bang’s size, which is weird because someone who’s supposed to be a speed character you think would be around Noel’s size
