its done differently here though. this is all 3D with a really good cell shader applied to it. it looked a little odd at moments but great at others, so who knows… as much as I hate to say it, almost anything would be an improvement on the original series but there is no way they could equal the art of the manga.
re: Berserk only being good for the first two story arcs… yeah, okay. He got really bad with filler at times but if you can sit down and read straight through without stopping, who cares? The story is epic, the new characters are great. There still is a lot of character development going on. The pace seems to have picked up again, finally… but I do get resentful when I think we are probably still 5 years away from an ending… at the least
Compared to some shit in the world of Manga, Berserk is fairly timid. However some scenes are pretty…Haunting. The part with Caska and the Demons wasn’t much, but watching everyones Gutts loved and trusted torn to pieces was pretty harsh shit.
Berserk is the best anime I’ve seen, it’s so genuine and doesn’t rely on faggoty bullshit asian tropes to skate by. Really hope they finish it some day…
The manga was way better than the anime. I liked the last episode of the anime just because it reminded me of Urotsukidoji. Hope the new series is more accurate to the manga.
So I just finished the Anime and have been reading the wiki I have to ask, does anyone else feel Griffith fucking Charlotte was out of character? What were his motives for doing this when throughout the series he is portrayed as being a level heading and intelligent character?
dude, Griffith fucked up. He wasn’t level headed because he was going to lose Gats. he had a plan and his pawn having a mind of his own fucked all that up. Think about Griffith’s demeanor once Gats bested him in a fight for his freedom and what happened to the band of the hawk afterward.
That’s kind of the underlying meaning of the entire series: causality, how one man’s desire to be free destoryed the lives of many, both from Gats dream and Griffith’s dream.
He was never level headed, he was obsessed with a goal and would do anything to get it. This tended to give him a single minded focus, but also blinded him to other things and caused problems.
I saw Berserk while I was in Iraq, bought a bootleg “haji” copy and was worth the 10 dollars. The series definitely need to continue, it ended on a fucked up note. The last comic book I read was Spawn in the mid 90’s so I was also hoping this thread was not full of GUTS
Camp Taji, during the 05-06 tour. IIRC, I only had enough off time to watch a few dvds and Berserk was one of the only series I was able to watch through. Being based off of hwy 1/msr tampa and watching Berserk kinda went hand in hand.
