I think a lot of things get lost in translation here. Where do you come from?
The direction of your game sounds interesting, though I too would like to see where it’s going. Post some artwork so we can atleast see the style. You could actually post stuff from your game(indie game devs do that all the time and nobody will steal it), but if you don’t feel comfortable post outdated stuff that still represents the style.

Well, if you don’t want to make a combo heavy game, don’t make a combo heavy game. Yes, some people like to do long combos, that doesn’t mean there has to be long combos. Some people like short combos and that doesn’t stop the long combo games.
Do what feels right for the game. If you try to please everyone you will end up pleasing no one.

The number of female characters does not matter. Yes, there are people on the internet who tell the world that they only play female characters(and sometimes they only play games because of these characters). There are always people with weird demands. So maybe those people woun’t play your game. Who cares.
The only thing that matters is: are you characters interesting and unique? Whether you have an all male or all female cast; it’s the characters that matter not their gender.

And I have no idea what G3 or G2 are. You should elaborate on that.

So… it’s like third strike, but it’s also like super turbo? It’s “inspired” but there are no unique bizarre characters? It’s anime and colorful, but street/urban and there are no girls?

I really don’t see any reason to pay attention to this. At best it sounds like a highly derivative and boring attempt to emulate Street Fighter, cherry picking random stuff from that series and forgetting what made it work.

I can understand not having artwork to show… because I, too, am crafting a 2D fighter, though right now it’s in several chaotically organized design docs.

I’m sure as hell not posting anything to SRK until I have a working 2-character demo though.

You should have given this thread a different title like “I need advice on a new 2DFG I’m creating”.

Sounds better and you would have probably received responses you are looking for since it reflects your intentions. Right now, it seems you’re trying to hype us over a game that we haven’t seen or know about yet. I play almost all fighters, and i’m the kind of guy that gives even the indy designed fighters a chance but at this point, some of these ideas are pretty questionable, especially your ideas of what is a game breaking mechanic. I’d suggest you listen to the responses to your ideas in this thread.

Well its a month later, trailer for something or wait more?

Also man, I dont think you cant do a great 2D fighter in one year, These things take their time.
