I’ve never played Killer Instinct before. This thread is encouraging me to try it.
Vampire Savior is gritty by that definition.
There’s still Ms. Fortune, Fillia, and Peacock for the light-hearted graphical style, with Parasoul being somewhere in the middle.
time to get all miss cleo on you guys…
netherealm rehashes KI. game is released to much fanfare. 6 months later the game gets maybe 20 entrants at majors
They should make a new shaq fu. Game was dope
so just like any non-Capcom game then?
I couldn’t make a prediction so accurate if it hadn’t happened time after time already
MK9 drew a decent sized crowd in almost every major, despite Netherealms doing its hardest to kill the community with all those constant patching. Tekken 6 managed to have 97 players in NEC despite TTT2 being out. Even Slow Calibur 4 managed to draw 57 players in NEC. So blaming Capcom for a KI game not becoming popular is like blaming top tiers when you lose while playing low tiers.
and thats why i doubt we’ll ever see it “uncensored” again if they stick with 3D graphics. its the japanese equivalent (in terms of gore and themes) of Mortal Kombat after all.
anyways, itd be knid of ironic really. a game that was made to be a direct competitor to Mortal Kombat and is thus a better playing (at the time) clone now being made by the very people it was supposed to compete with. if the very game wasnt already licensed by midway back then id have a good laugh about it. but now it all coems full circle.
This is not the case. If it were the Banjo games wouldn’t have gotten releases on Live or have the shitty new game. Also, Rare is owned by Mircosoft.
This is their next fighting game lolol

I never got to play it was it really good? whats it about?
Why do you summon me? :lovin:
It was a fighting game featuring shaq.
I remember Shaq Fu… one one one of the only gaMES I had on the Genesis. Fucking Voodoo…that bitch was cheap as hell…

KI was pretty shallow, just like MK, so they should be able to do it well.
But my god, does it have good music. So whatever, ill buy it just for that.
Let’s all hope if they decide to make another KI and the right company does so.
I would want Rare to go back to its roots and reassure everyone that they’re still a good game making company… but we all saw what they did to Banjo… My heart can’t take a shit being taken on KI
Here’s a question… Of the fighting games out today… Which engine, or feel, do you guys think killer instinct would best fit in?
Who was your guys’ favorite character?
I liked Spinal… He had Big ass sword and could turn into a clone of his opponent… Shit was god-like.
You guys ever noticed that Rare had a thing for good music?
Recently I started playing Old school games on my computer…
Thinking about it now… EVERY damn RareWare game for the SNES had amazing, memorable music…
Think about it… Killer Instinct,
Diddy Kong Racing, snowy levels were the best
Donkey Kong 1-3 + 64
Conker’s Bad Fur Day
Banjo Kazooie + Tooie
You guys feel me?
I would say it’s highly unlikely for this to happen, but let’s remember what has happened in the last few years, mostly thanks to us gamers.
Street Fighter 4 came out almost 10 years after a true sequel
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 came out 10 years after its sequel
Duke Nukem came out 14 years after a true sequel
The only real roadblock is Rare, since they still hold the rights to it. Fan demand could convince them to want to do something with the franchise, although it would be Xbox Exclusive if they did so. I hope Ed Boon does find a way to obtain the license, and I think he will, because I’m sure he can do the game justice. To me, it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.
Didn’t Rare/MS say something years ago about only going back to the franchise when they could do something new and different with it or something to that effect?
Fixed.
