NEStalgia - an 8-bit MMO

Posted this to a few other forums I frequent, and figured it might get some traction here as well. Been playing this game off and on the last few weeks, and it definitely has longer lasting appeal than you’d think for a game of this type. Actually has fairly challenging end game pve, and surprisingly deep pvp.

If you were a fan of any of the old style JRPGs, this may be worth your time to check out.

Server that a decent amount of competitive people are on right now is Cornelia, which is an open PvP server. If there’s significant interest, I can probably help in getting an SRK guild setup (as its sort of costly for lowbies to start guilds).

My friend showed this to me. I totally need to download it, because it looks awesome.

It’s on an atrocious website, but someone made a guide to some of the dungeons/secrets in the game that some playing may find helpful.

It’s looks both terrible and great. They got my attention at “free” so I’ll check it out. Not an MMO guy so is it’s just a grind feast I’ll find something else to grind.

This looks interesting, but definitely need more feed back on this game.
Have to agree with Rush, game looks terrible and great…

it looks interesting.

The grind isn’t too bad. You can get to max level within a few days of playing, providing you’re grouping with people.

Despite the graphics, the game actually has very good game mechanics underneath the hood. They just released a new end-game dungeon that has quite a few encounters that are both creative and challenging. Even though it’s styled to look 8-bit, there’s a lot of neat things the devs can do with it apparently.
