I think the new art fits better with the sprites. The old art, as cool as it was to see something very different and kinda muted, looked mostly kinda unfinished. (Select screen art was nice, but Victory art was kinda messy.)
I’m really quite impressed with art like Asura, Hanzo, Tung Fu Rue, and Washizuka. It’s so great seeing characters who might never get a change to be drawn so sharply in a game running in HD, to get this kinda treatment. And there’s some very nice details with things like facial wrinkles, different levels of beards… it’s just very nice to see in detail.
For the Moriya teleport stuff I just hold df after I do the RDP motion. I tend to do it a bit slower so the games picks up the motions better. Once you get the timing it’s not that bad.
I played a few random games with Nocturnal that seemed pretty OK lagwise on my end, and I see he’s in California. That’s pretty neat. Also Nocturnal you are the only player I’ve met so far who uses GCFS. I am trying to do it against Hauhromaos who press C a lot, but it’s not going well at all.
I’m steady trying to get better at this game, you can add me to the list as well. I mostly use Iori and I’m experimenting around trying to find a good 2nd character. Doing best with K’, but I’m not a fan of how he plays in this game.
WTF, custom colors should be banned online. I just played against somebody whose Kaede was entirely a black sprite. I couldn’t tell what the hell he was doing half the time.
well, ive been in the training lab and i’ve found a new hotaru glitch. you can tk specials to cancel out of df+C (since its jump cancellable). currently experimenting with the new combo possibilities…
btw are there any more jump cancellable moves in this game?
EDIT: lol, found another related and possibly more broken glitch. guess ill explain it since capping isnt panning out.
anyways, there’s a way to jump cancel without having a normal come instantly come out. tap any button, wait a bit, then jump. as you might have guessed, combine this with 1-hit divekick and you now have an infinite.
[crouch B, df+C, air qcb+B (1 hit), dash in] x N
also she has some new bnbs involving this and the other glitch. she can now end her usual stuff with df+C, jump cancel, air d+B (for untechable knockdown), and df+C tk lvl 1 super (better damage).
gg’s Purify, I don’t know much about how to deal with Shiki. Hard to react to overheads online is part of it I’m sure, but there’s more to it than that I think. Any tips?
