Netcode is the shit!!! Really impressed with the game. Graphics are off the hook and gameplay is smooth. Im not a SNK player, used to Capcom games but this game is hot. Already got my first dropper. lol
This is godly!
Gonna update the OP when I get this later this week, gonna need more notes on that netcode peeps
I literally just found out about this game today.
IS THIS GAME WORTH IT/FUN? It looks freaking legit, but I need to know. (Background: I used to play KoF as a kid, I was pretty decent but didn’t know what I was doing)
Edit: This is a 4 button game correct? Should it be mapped out like this? (Also is this how KoF is supposed to be played as well?)
B C D
A
Where (on a TE)
A = A
X = B
Y = C
LB = D
Sorry if this is wrong. Trying to remember the button layout of a game I played 10 years ago is hard.
5 buttons
u need the 5th for the change option
A C E
B D
or the one you had works too, just throw in E under C.
and NGBC is hella fun.
Right and wrong button configs are completely subjective, if you don’t like the current button settings switch it up until it feels comfortable
for me my settings on a 360 TE would be
X = A (Low Punch)
A = B (Low Kick)
Y = C (High Punch)
B = D (High Kick)
RB = E (Tag)
Stock config works for me on a TE
Glad to hear about that netcode, I’ll be picking this up soon.
I actually got that feeling when I did a search for KoF in general. There doesn’t seem to be a “standard” (not that that’s a bad thing).
I’ll probably either go with mine (as that’s how I used to play KoF) or this one here (seeing as this makes sense as well). Whatever feels better.
Thanks for the help everyone, I am now set on buying this.
NGBC was on Atomiswave hardware, not NeoGeo, so the button config is the same as KoF XII and XIII, with a single button (E) added, this game.
XI was the same way, with a single button added (B.O) in the same place “E” was added here.
The default TE setup is the way all SNKP games running on non-neo hardware have been set up, I believe.
I like playing 98 with default Neogeo style setup too, so I can understand how odd it feels. But if you want the authentic arcade-style experience, and wanna prepare for XIII, default TE layout is great.
So I’m pretty much a total rookie to SNK games, if anyone wants to beat me up just send me an invite.
These tier lists are US tier lists from years ago back when we played the game in majors. Since then, in Japan, Big dropped off from top tier and some of the lowers moved up a little. Kim and Hotaru are still the best (these were developments in like, 2008).
You think Shiki should be lower than C? LOL basically that character alone got me 2nd at FR.
If I’m not wrong, in japan is npt banned.
The only one that is banned now is mudman lol
GGs to everyone tonight. Sorry If i kept picking Hanzo and Fuma, I always liked those ninjas and I really want to learn them. Netcode is top notch, I just finish playing for like 2 hours and no lag and everyone had really good pings ranging from 50-109.
Rollie, Im a nub too at SNK games. Hit me up!
I’m starting to miss the old 2d backgrounds.
Will try the netcode later.
Man, is it me or is NGBC strangely devoid of…GRAPPLERS
Yeah, ggs Projectjustice, I just wanted to go hop into training mode some more, I hardly know my ass from my elbow in this game.
If you guys have any contact or email to SNK of Japan, I’d suggest lovebombing them and let them know that you guys are satisfied, and most importantly, that you demand this netcode for XIII.
The one thing that has held SNK back in America has been lack of competiton and development. If we can get awesome game + awesome netcode, the sky is the limit.
Aw man I love NGBC and this sounds like a solid release. Dammit SNKP give PSN a chance. I don’t want to miss out on this.
