Lol this happened to me before, it’s a really weird glitch/attempt to track where Nemesis attempts to keep tracking an opponent that is behind him or the glitch occurs randomly. Despite Nemesis firing to the side screen it actually does still have a valid hitbox.
You can do this too by with QCF+L in the corner. Wallbounce, wait until about right when they cross around you, cancel to super, and he shoots himself in the foot. Accidentally did it in a random casual match.
