"Nem-Assists": The Nemesis Teambuilding/Assists Thread

So Strider is everybody’s best friend, but are there any assists which specifically help Nemesis do you think? Obviously if you are playing Nemesis on point you’re going to want an OTG assist, but other than Vajra, any other notable utility assists?

I’m planning on trying a Nemesis/Hsien-Ko combination since it’s kiiiiinda similar to the Hulk/Hsien setup I’ve got going now. No idea who to use as an anchor though…

Also did anyone see the Frank West/Nemesis arcade run video before it got taken down? Somehow the guy was able to get Frank to level 4 or 5 really easily with Nemesis helping.

I’ve been using Dormmamu’s purification tower but so far its been too slow to actually catch someone during that stun time however, it does act as an Anti-Air and if it does hit often sets up for cmd grabs.

Plasma beam allows him to wave-dash in for free, and he can even confirm off of it with deadly reach -> clothesline
other than that, I like missiles and log trap.

Does anyone know if Shuma’s mystic ray might be a good assist for Nemesis? I have a hunch that it might be useful for setting up air tic throws and the like.

I like it but I don’t use it for air throws, I catch them when falling down with command grabs.
I also just use it to clear the screen like with estaka : P

It’s also good for dealing with teleporters, if they’re being predictable/you guess right.

Nemesis (RL Slam)/Dr. Doom (Plasma Beam)/Wesker (gunshot)

Nemesis with Doom assist is silly. Air rockets work well with beams, and Plasma Beam helps many aspects of Nemesis’s game. Gunshot extends combo into the 720k+ range, and gives him a viable high/low mixup. Doom doesn’t really get much help from his assist, which could be the downfall of this team, but gunshot is always good. Plasma Beam gives Wesker good left/right and a combo extender, while RL Slam gives the team a mashable super armor assist, and a combo extender for Wesker.

Biohazard Assault DHC Sphere Flame is really good. Adds quite a bit of damage. Photon Array DHC Biohazard Assault combos IIRC, and adds a bit of damage. Photon Array also gives me a usually safe DHC if I do something dumb like random Biohazard Rush. Wesker DHC sucks obviously.

What do you think of HIdden Missiles over Plasma Beam? Though Plasma Beam I agree will be really good espicially in stopping assists and keeping the opponent grounded. Unblockable mixups with Wesker and Nemesis could be really deadly. Hell do a Cross-up high and low mixup and you got yourself a free combo.

Won’t have the game until later tonight, but was definitely thinking about using Nemesis. I’m seeing Wesker is a highly recommended assist, and I saw someone mention Chun Li above. Would someone be able to comment on what makes Chun such a good assist for Nemesis? Both of these characters are currently members of my team, so if they both made for good Nemesis assists then this might be a very good scenario.

Main reason I’m using Plasma Beam is because I like to put Wesker 1st, and missiles are fairly useless to him. Hidden Missiles definitely have their use with Nemesis though. Haven’t really experimented with them too much.

Useless to him? I’ve been bodied by a couple Wesker/Doom combinations before.

and DHC’s with Trish kill anybody with 1mil if you’re willing to spend 3 meters. :X

As much as I like hidden missiles, Nemesis has no real way to protect Doom while the missiles are inactive.

o.O 3 meters? I do nearly 1 mil with mashing on Chaotic Flame DHC.

Plasma Beam also allows Nemesis to do assist call, angled Deadly Reach xx air rocket launcher. Safe and does good chip. More reason to use it over missiles.

I’m also playing Nemesis (RL Slam), Wesker (Shot) and Doom (Plasma Beam). I’ve got Doom on anchor though because while Wesker is better in that spot I think Wesker gains more from having Doom’s beam than Doom gains from having Wesker’s gunshot.

The synergy is really good between Nemesis and Wesker, Nemesis gets more damage out of his combos with the OTG and the RL slam also helps Wesker extend after a gunshot that usually wouldn’t combo into anything.

I did play around with Hidden Missiles for a while and while it does help Nemesis getting in it tends to kill his combo damage quite a bit if you do manage to convert into a combo. The beam works just fine at covering his unsafe approaches and helps him set up crossups etc…

I’m going to try Nemesis/Frank (Shopping Cart)/Strider, see if his Shopping cart assist is good for Nem.

When I said with 1 mill I meant the entire cast. : p

I played around a little with this, swapping Frank into my team instead of Doom. The cart is really good, works in the same way you’d use the tatsu assist or a beam from close range as it comes out really fast and keeps them occupied. The only issue I had with him being on my team is that I think with Frank you want to play him early on in your team so he can level up with the help of assists, if you’re just using him for the assist I think he’ll come in when most of your team is dead at level 1 and have a harder time levelling up quickly.
