"Nem-Assists": The Nemesis Teambuilding/Assists Thread

Do we have a master/tier list of synergy characters for Nemesis? Sounds like something useful for those looking for a casual would-be Nemesis player to have.

There was that list i put up for useful assists, every other assist I listed I think did nothing for Nemesis, it’s like on page 3 I think.

I meant more like character synergy as a whole than just assists. Technology levels for each + assists + a list of notables, something like that.

Next part of T-Type is Team building lol, i’ll get around to that.

Nice timing then. Feel free to mooch that post I had for your video should you want it

Its a strange team, but I have been trying out Nemesis (B), Frank(A), and Skrull(B). Seems to have some interesting setups and possibilities between all the characters.

What sort of synergy are you getting out of Nem and Skrull? I dig Skrull but I’m not seeing how you’d make them work together.

Well initially I just plain like each of the characters. Been doing some experimenting and from what I can tell Orbital Grudge assist from Skrull has the ability to set up some tentacle resets for Nemesis as the characters tend to pop out in the air. Its good for putting them in a position that gives Nemesis a good followup option. Skrull can also DHC to Nemesis from Inferno (Bioweapon Assault) or from Skrull Torch keeping them low into Biohazard Rush. Nemesis’s Rocket Slam assist also has good properties with its armor to help Skrull set up some command grabs after block stun or if it hits its easy to pull a launcher or a grab reset off it.

Need to do more experimenting, but we will see what happens.

Orbital Grudge does in fact set up for resets with Nemesis which is cool stuff. Also nice to DHC into Inferno quite often. Now to see if Bioweapon Assault can DHC into Death Penalty…

Skrull’s damage from Inferno alone is quite useful. If Skrull’s on point and face to face, he might be able to use Meteor smash to quickly switch sides while Nemesis Launcher slams them, then combo. Not sure. There’s also some psuedo synergy in that most assists that really help Skrull also really help Nemesis, such as Wesker and Doom. Plus, Skrull is a nice CP against those top of the screen projectile spammers, so there’s some matchup synergy as well.

I’m currently running Nemesis on point and Task on anchor but I’m trying to find a suitable assist character.

I’ve been trying out Nova and Dorm but what do you guys suggest?

SENTINEL

FUCKING DO IT, YOU GOT NO BALLS

(but seriously, Sent’s fucking amazing for Nemesis)

This man speaks in half truths(which means you have one ball). While indeed Sentinel assists are FREAKING AMAZING for Nemesis, the Matchup Factor is high: Getting lamed out is very easy for this team. Using Plasma Beam beats keepaway easy: Not only does Plasma rip through almost everything, but you can score Rockets on the assist afterwards.

NEVER GONNA STOP PREACHIN’ DAT NEMESIS/SENT. NEVER.

but yeah, Plasma beam is hella good for Nemesis. While drones can be good for keepaway, Plasma beam just tears through 90% of the bullshit other people can throw.

What’s awesome about Sent assist though is

  1. Drones are slow moving, multihitting with plenty of hit and blockstun
  2. They allow for Nemesis to maximize damage off naked launcher’s, tentacle slams and corner combos
  3. Sent is a great DHC both for high damage after BWA as well as making a blocked BWA safe
  4. Sent can handle alot of matchups Nemesis cannot and vice versa

what’s not awesome is

  1. The matchups that DO fuck over both, really fuck them over (its rarer than you think though)
    2… thats about it really.

huh, I guess that means I’m currently running Team BFF’s XD

So is it a consensus that Nemesis should be a point character? I wanted to trying running Firebrand along with him, but doesn’t seem like they have much synergy going for them…Any tips?

Nemesis is an absolute monster (ba-dum-tsshh) when on point. All characters are, but Nemesis is one of those characters that really benefits from assists, and it easily pushes him into “I can handle an entire team” territory. for most team composition’s this is his best spot

however, you shouldn’t forget about assist Nemesis either. running Nemesis second isn’t a bad option by any means, and he still has the tools to be effective. Take Airtola’s team for example, Hulk/Nemesis/Taskmaster. Aitrola’s Hulk is strong enough that if he runs him first, he can wreck shit and make the opponent scared of dealing with hulk, possibly blowing their XF in the process. Hulk is similar to Nemesis in this regard in that he’s best on point as well. If hulk gets steamrolled however, the team doesn’t fall apart, as nemesis still has parabolic arrows to back him up (it covers a nice angle for him).

basically, if you want to run Nemesis second, make sure whatever assist he has will 1. be able to cover him without another assist to back it up and 2. will be a good anchor/ DHC.

Running firebrand first could work, rocket assist gives a soft knockdown, which could be useful for combo extending, in addition to adding at least 100K onto any combo firebrand is using. since firebrand has a powerup hyper, DHCing into that from BWA allows for more combo extension due to that big ass ground bounce Nemesis causes.

Nemisis (launcher slam)/ doctor doom (plasma beam or hidden missiles)/ strider hiyru (vajra)
Or
Nemisis/ strider hiyru/ sentinel

Which seems better?

First of all, the second team will be improved by running sent second, not anchor. nemesis and sent do great damage with little to no meter, so running them before strider will give him lots of meter to burn, and strider with meter is cray cray. Strider is also just a better anchor, hands down, but SUCKS as a DHC for nemesis (animal swarm after BWA is the assiest of ass)

Second of all, well, it depends. Do you want a team that will provide different answers to different matchups, while sacrificing DHC synergy to a certain degree? (if so, go with the first team)

Or do you want a team that relies on momentum, but once said momentum is procured, you will wreck shop as well as providing glorious drone synergy? (if so, go with second team)

I’ve already said a FUCKTON about Nemesis/Sent in various threads, so I won’t get on that topic again, but I say go with the second team, since strider will really accentuate the undead machine.

Incoming really bold statement. Prepare your ears and your mind, for what I will say will shatter many of your beliefs.

Seriously, you should probably hold onto something.

You ready?

Not yet?

Now?

Ok.

Here goes

I DO NOT BELIEVE STRIDER IS NEMESIS’S BEST ASSIST!

There, I said it.
