Hey guys help me fill in the blanks please. I want to run either Nemesis/???/Strider or Nemesis/Strider/???, which team order is the better one and what characters would fill the missing spot best?
trish peekabo as anchor is good for both of those characters
Started messing with a Nemesis/Sentinel/Wesker team, and man oh man is it a beautiful thing. However, I find that I’m having quite a bit of trouble with Nemesis relauch combos, particularly against the wall. Is this just and issue with Wesker, or do all Nemesis relaunches need to be done midsceen?
I’m sure you guys hear this a lot, but that’s a really fucking clever title.
And yes, Nem/Sent/Wesker is disgusting.
what do you mean - does the OTG bullet miss? i’m fairly sure i do it without issue even in the corner.
i’ve also been trying Wesker OTG > c.H > corner reset and it seems to work, though i think it pops them higher which may be a problem.
That does seem to be what’s happening, the bullet does seem to miss. I’m starting to believe that it could be a matter of proper timing, not screen placement. Does anyone have any footage of any Nemesis/Wesker relaunch combos, or Nemesis relaunches in general, to get a feel for the timing?

So I have been inspired by Unknown and did a Nemesis/Doom (missles)/Wesker incarnation of my team and my success has skyrocketed. I’m more competent with Doom leagues over my Sent caabilities so that’s why I use doom. I was originally doing Ghost/???/Doom(missles) where the ??? was a plethora of characters just trying to make Ghost work. I don’t try nearly as hard for better payout and while this excited me it also saddens me because I really want to make Ghost work. I still plan to work with Ghost in technology but goddamn it just seems like Nemesis does everything Ghost does with the added benefit of more life and can take advantage of random hits into lengthy combos WAY better than Ghost (try doing relaunches with Ghost Rider and you’ll see what I mean). Also deadly reach in the air can go down AND FORWARD! WTF!?
I just wanted to put this info in for you guys from a Ghost Rider mains perspective that Nemesis is indeed a threat. I think where Ghost is defensive I think Nemesis is offensive but the have similar skillsets for reach. Could be the Wesker but even when I tried Ghost/Doom/Wesker it seems like I still have more success. Even if Nemesis is just waiting to get figured out might as well ride the train until it stops…
Really? People didn’t know he had this? One of his greatest pressure tools and general moves in all.

The good thing is Nemesis can pull both defensive and offensive play style. For example K4polo plays more of a defensive Nemesis and it works pretty well since he never has to worry about going unsafe and just focus on rock solid wall defense/zoning. I play a mix of both depending on the situation. Ghost Rider has trouble going offensive because he doesn’t have way opening opponents up. Defensively he’s pretty good but he still has problem dealing with airbourne opponents. Wesker adds everything to any team, even- no espicially on anchor Dark Wesker is some scary stupid stuff but nonetheless scary. Just note Nemesis is best on point.
I dare say, after using Nemesis way more today he has everything Ghost has and more. It’s a shame because I really like Ghost but he has more HP, more horizontal control, armor, better combos, easier combos and some vertical control. I just command grab H’d a Haggar online when it came down to our final characters and won the match on that alone. Unless more tech comes to Ghost I will probably be using Nem since he has the playstyle I want just easier to do everything.
I currently play a zero, doom, hawkeye team and I like it but I’ve come to the realization that I just don’t play enough to deal with the execution / technical issues of that team. I’ve put a lot of my time into doom, learning his mid screen and corner loops and tactics so I was thinking of trying Nemesis, Doom, Wesker in the sense that doom is my “heavy execution” based character while still getting a lot of mileage out of the rest of my team. I do have experience with nem and wesker and I like that both of them are reset specialists in a sense. Does this sound like a decent idea to anyone else?
So the otg gun shot doesn’t actually help nemesis that much since you don’t get much for the increased risk? What about the otg gun shot used as like a set up for throws, think I remember seeing that in “the bible”? I hear Nemesis BnB dhc’s into sphere flame so that will be nice. (sorry, random thoughts here as the 2 nemesis threads answered a lot of questions)
Would I be better off with Hulk / doom / wesker? I really don’t want to learn strider due to what I said earlier, not a lot of time to learn a real technical character and especially a glass cannon from scratch and it sounds like a lot of people trying to sub him in for the assist are struggling with the actual character… I think Nemesis is the better character over hulk when played to “max potential” and I’d prefer to play him but it sounded like Vajra(sp?) was close to a must for him so looking for opinions on that.
Strider probably helps doom more too though as each air hit would give him big damage off his easy relaunches from the hard knock down I think right? Would just have to triangle dash over or is it not possible? Also, I had planned to just go for that easy damage (yeah I’m a scrub!) with nemesis bnb super into sphere flame and once doom comes on the scene I like to ToD a dangerous character with his loops into lvl 3 but with Strider I feel like I’d have to save meter for ouroboros(sp) where as dark wesker is crazy no matter what. I will say though that I came into this thinking no way am I playing strider but now it’s a heavy debate, the potential for nemesis and doom may just be worth it…
My opinions
-Wesker + Nemesis = Easy OTG combos and possible unblockable setups
Since Nemesis can pull off 710k BnBs on average you don’t really need Wesker to extend combos (though to make it more simpler, yes) however those UB setups are very important to Nemesis since he himself has a poor mixup game up front. DHC however into Max Wesker is poor, so best to put Wesker on anchor if your going to do this.
-Doom + Nemesis = Good in every possible way, Molecular Shield, Plasma Beam or Missiles all assists benefit Nemesis
-Strider is a bit catchy to learn at first but once you get the hang of it he’s a really good asset to Nemesis, and as character on his own. I know I play him on anchor but he’s not uncapable on his own in fact i’ve made allot of OCV’s with just Strider and only using XF to take out one character. He’s not THAT hard to play, just takes a couple hours in training mode. Also Ouroboros spam doesn’t really work as easy at it lets on you still need to open up an opponent.
-How do you play Zero but call Doom heavy execution? lol
-Substantial plays Nemesis/Doom/Strider and let me tell you it’s a frightening team.
Like many others have probably said, whoever came up with the title of this thread is a genius. I’ll need to pick Nemesis up so I can read this thread and have it mean something.
I’m torn when it comes to finding my middle man. I use nemesis/?/doom. I’ve been running with wesker in second slot, but I don’t really enjoy playing him despite his godlike capabilities backed with XF2+assist.
Im looking at using storm or akuma. I’ve recently put work in both since I have a storm/akuma/doom team, but I miss using nemmy so I would like to include either of them to be my number 2 man/woman. Any preference to the two?
That’s fine, even his 710k BnBs don’t look that complicated solo, as long as there is some use for the otg gun shot and it sounds like there is with UB setups. Plan was for Wesker to anchor for sure, doom has better dhc options from nemesis.
See I’ve only played a decent bit of vanilla sf4 and now mvc3 so a couple hours in the lab for you might mean days for me lol. Have to build all the muscle memory from scratch and like doing the doom bucktooth loop mid screen where every thing is strict timing and you have to do like forward / down air dashes in between hits takes me a while cause I haven’t experienced those mechanics much in other games.
You may have misunderstood, are you calling zero heavy execution? If so I’d agree and that’s a big reason for the team switch, as a player, at my skill level I don’t think I get enough out of him or the team. When you have to do 2 self relaunches and 2 mid combo assist calls to get his good damage that’s just too much for me.
Eager to hear what Substantial thinks then, but I think I’ll have to play wesker, at least at first and once nemesis is up to par throw the rest of my lab time into strider on the side. If his assist makes nemesis and doom just that good I could see throwing him in there and learning on the job, I have a feeling I’d still be competitive against my friends given we’re all kinda bad haha.
Average of 710k, the real BnB is around 730 but often enough you’ll occasionally land a 680k. Sometimes I get that 770k Bnb.
what do you guys think of nemesis with dante/zero?
I need an assist that covers horizontally, and is a decent anchor. does he fit these qualities?
From what I’ve read and seen so far nemesis’ worst spot is as anchor. Without assists he has some bad match ups and I’m not sure he’d even be that good of an assist for those characters. Having actually played dante and zero a bit sentinel would work much better as an anchor and his drone assist is very strong for both zero and dante.
Gonna have to agree with Mondry, Nemesis isn’t the greatest on anchor (He’s more of a point character) his horizontal assist is Rocket Launcher which is an Ok, projectile assist it soft knockdowns and causes some really good damage for a fast moving projectile, but it whiffs on allot of characters of the cast. There are better horizontal assists, like Sentinel’s.
If people are going to play Nemesis he’s best on point, 2nd is ok but anchor is no-no. He’s not XF sentinel where Sent can open up with Fly mixups.
