Well, 2 months full of B day. You forget these things not looking in here in a while.
Just got February’s Neesa Box.
This month came with A scarf, a figure, “2 kinds of ass clapping” (Neesa’s latest rap/crunk album), power ring replica and the usual pin and fold out pamphet/poster.
-So, the highlight is definately the scarf. while it obviously isn’t hand made, and the 1 percent pubic hair (as claimed by the pamphet) is dubious, the quality is still there. It’s nice and long, warm and pretty stylish. The only problem is EVERYBODY is going to have one, and that kind of ruins it. It sucks to show up at a meetup and all of a sudden it is part of the “uniform”. Remember the soccer jerseys from march? Yeah, nobody wants to go through that again.
-The figure is kind of this chibi/claymation Neesa statue thing. It’s kind of cute…but it’s also kind of scary. Its like, half anime, half nightmare. Yes, I get it, it’s supposed to be Alice in Wonderland on Acid…but its just…odd. I mean, why are her nipples so…big? I mean, I know they are supposed to be big, but like, dinner plate big? nah. I know there are some dudes who like that, and I’m not going to start that debate again…so…whatever.
-2 Kinds of Ass Clapping is a big step up from “You’ll cowards don’t even eat ass”. The production values, the musicianship, and the artwork are really showing how Neesa is an up and coming producer (I am really looking forward to her black metal/drumstep album “Onee Sama Afterbirth”)…However, I am a little concerned with the lyrical content. It is just SO VIOLENT. I mean, between “Killing Niggas” “Killing Niggas part 2” and “Killing Niggas (Gun butter remix)” I must of listened to Neesa describe murdering, 4, 5 hundred people. Yes it’s art. And yes it is free speech. But I don’t think she should use their real names and addresses. Also…It is very jarring to be told to insert disc 2 mid song. A little restraint could mean the album would fit on 3, rather than 4 cds.
-The power ring is neat, but it’s just a trinket. It’s not like it would actually get you into the Neesa compound. Simple bronze construction, and the Stylized “N” in some kind of black metal. Not my size, so I couldn’t wear it, but you could use it as a phone charm, or keyring or whatever. Obviously, like everybody else I was disappointed that the plans to have custom engraving on the inside of the ring didn’t pan out…but that is how these things sometimes go.
-The button/pin is pretty simple, with the artwork of “2 kind of ass clapping” on it.
-The pamphet/guide was the usually glossy affair, with this month’s poster of Neesa in her School Swimsuit (white version) on the back. Very nice.
All in all, it was a pretty good box. I would definitely say it is worth the $480 usd monthly subscription (plus shipping).
I’d give it a solid 8.5/10
