Well, I don’t have a capture card, but I do have a camcorder so I’m going to try to record some of my matches and other stuff. Sorry about the poor quality, I also gotta try to fix that sound delay.
Nice vids stealthy. One obvious thing I noticed was that Ryu was abusing you hard with those SA. The other thing was that you didn’t use c.hp all that often.
Granted your better then me, so I probably shouldn’t be throwing in my 2 cents.
Yeah, I get hit by a lot of SAs. It was even worse in the earlier matches, but I eventually got used to them. I’d like to use c. hp more often, but it usually doesn’t work too well because of the online delay.Sometimes it comes out too late, and then I end up eating a combo. I’ll post more videos later when youtube is back.
i think the main reason why you were getting SAed so much is because you were throwing out so many pokes. when you got him backed up in the corner, you should wait and see what your opponent does and then counter attack. that doesn’t necessarily mean back off but just pause a little and try to react to what they do. The ryu could’ve jumped away as well during the flurry of pokes.
nice stealthy, but i can see an over reliance of non ex over head punches which really gives the other guy a pretty big opening for punish (i.e c.mk xx exfb SADC ultra from ryu) happens alot over here, so the only way i survive is to learn to make less mistakes.
in times where c.hp will not hit, i backdash and reposition. some queers do the head dance and double crossup if they caught you in a nice position, so resetting yourself by back dashing should be done more often.
and hk is a very SA happy community, so i keep my block strings fresh. yours are good but you can clearly see the ryu adapted after knowing the 4th hit ends with a sweep (like most boxers) if you really feel like sweeping, i do the following string if possible
c.lp, st.lp, (f) st.lp, c.hk
its not for damage, but its a hit confirm sweep. this on top of c.mk ~ c.hk is a very good way to keep your opponent off balance. of course the online latency is annoying but i think hit confirms are the only way to keep rog safe. (i.e i never exRU unless truly anticipated. i usually hit confirm all my specials with c.mp) its very good damage to hit confirm and play on the safe side.
and i saw alot of opening on your end when you’re playing against that bison though. but he started doing those panic j.mps i lol’d. nice exkara punch against that sagat btw. solid rog but still reckless in my eyes need more matchup experience and polishing the execution. (maybe even create some SA usages)
Was just reading the other thread, and lol to the guys who dont know who justin wong is…You guys play street fighter right? Or just started?
the sarcasm flew right over his house, someone catch it for him
j.wong is VERY overrated.
why would you say that eph. even if it’s true, the only thing it’s accomplishing is telling people who know and respect him is that he’s not all that and they should relax.
I don’t know what you’re looking to achieve there ;[
simple. i don’t believe in worshiping pros because i know we’re all capable. hes got rep from mvc2. cool. hes being paid to teach sf4, that just spells arrogant to me. and ive never seen him do anything amazing outside of mvc2.
solid? sure
pro? not to me (or anyone in hk AFAIK)
well if he’s selling lessons and people are willing to pay i can’t really call him arrogant… i mean if he’s arrogant then ok but saying he’s cocky cuz he makes people pay to learn from him… i dunno.
i mean i guess i understand what you’re trying to say i was just kinda curious what your thought process was and i got it ;o
its the fact that he accepts the money and act all high n mighty in a few interviews
high profile players here always say they got a long way to go + suggests ways to beat them. so imo, modesty goes a long way. (anyone looks good beating bad players)
kinda don’t wanna post this, but heres a match of my balrog.

more vids will be posted but i started chocking alot later on.
constructive critism appreciated.
fair enough
Well both of you need to work on your execution and match-up knowledge. Neither of y’all are bad, but you need to improve upon those fundamentals.
yea my execution is usually alot better than that.
Missed a few combo opportunities from what I saw.
That first round, that Honda was jumping around too much without getting punished. Personally when I play, I’m ALWAYS anticipating a jump so I can punish with c.fp or headbutt.
Also, gotta be careful when pressuring honda. Especially on wake-up and what-not, headbutt will beat out anything you throw at him.
Well, I played a good El Fuerte (ll PiGG ll) for the first time, and damn his 50/50s are crazy. I had a pretty hard time in the beginning, but i managed to squeeze in some wins later on (around 40% of the time).
His RSF loops are crazy, and this guy can do them pretty well. I realized that could’ve used TAP for a lot of the FAs, but I totally forgot until the later matches. I also tried jump back + hp, but I got grabbed out of it by his ex air grab.
I felt like I don’t have much time to react to his moves, and not too many opportunities to combo (although I probably missed a lot). I guess this is just like any other match up, you have to play enough to get used to it.
Check my youtube channel for some of the matches.

(Watch match video 2 to see him destroy me with the infinite combo.)
