A lesser played match. May my mistakes never be repeated for anyone who sees this video. I think in the near future Hakan will be the 2nd most used grappler, but that’s just me.

@0:29 - See how he oils up as soon as he notices that i’m not rushing him down? this is the easiest way to give Hakan the leg up in the match.
@0:43 - He messes up the timing, but this is a cross-up j.hk (see round 2 :[ )
@1:03 - Slide low profiles most of Boxer’s standing pokes except st.hk (and possible cl.hp in AE 2012)
@1:30 - In case you didn’t know, when oiled Hakan can slide forward while focus attacking
@1:35 - @1:54 : Yes it took me 25s to figure out that it was a cross-up, ( I can imagine that this setup combined with an O/S cr.mk xx slide or simply slide might really hurt Balrog on his wakeup)
@2:03 - from this distance if Hakan hits you, he’s actually positive on block.
@2:15 - lk.oil is really fast, but he is immobile and vulnerable doing, this is not completely true for ex.oil which he can cancel to ducking.
@2:24 - this is a common setup for oiled cr.lk ticks into oil rocket

@3:39 - Learned from my previous match and didn’t give him space to oil up (this will change in AE 2012)
@3:45 - this is an unsafe distance for slide.
@4:40 - Even though I block the cross-up, he still switches sides
@4:58 & @5:05 - He changes the timing slightly so it hits in front.
@5:35 - Hakan can cancel his dashes into normals, beware when blocking his focus attack since it can lead to frame traps and tick spds.
@5:49 - I’m jumping in ALOT, w/o oil hakan doesn’t have a reliable AA (similar to Honda). His st.hp is good at range (his lack of AA is also related to him using U1 and not U2)
@6:11 - backdashing is a tool, but if he has U2, definitely a no-no.

In the 2nd match, why you decide to use dirty bull? To counter Hakan U1?

no not really, Balrog doesn’t really have a counter to U1 (since you can’t react to it because its 1+0). Picking U2 just makes some players think a bit too much so i can jab them more than usual than with U1 since i they’re not worried about a juggled ultra from headbutt. I didn’t pick it to use it in that case, I often pick it when i’m trying to learn a matchup since using U2 almost always draws out a match so you get an opportunity to learn what the opp wants to do with his meter etc.

Midlevel casuals with a long-term sparring mate - It’s that scenario where you’ve fought eachother so much over the years that you can’t help just mess about or play it laid back… Still, there’s a few fun moments in there if you can look past the scrubness.

Yun can go choke on a horse-wang… So annoying to fight - This particular player was jumping around and doing the same old divekick crap up close, spamming palms at a distance… Eventually I said fuck this, fuck you, have some noobish Balrog garbage.

This was a good match with a decent Honda player, knew I had to play smart. I made a couple of mistakes, but in the end I mad a couple of good decisions.

Sure I upload the occasional serious match but my SF4 vids are mostly me doing some ridiculous crap you can only ever get away with on GFWL PC versus the lower skill level players there, myself included
