this is the truth…
when i do a headbutt while the opponent jumps back… i can catch the mother fucker by doing a straight ultra then upper…

Heres some videos of me in a ranbat…thought id share with all you other Rogs.
that and his arm doesnt reach about half the screen anymore. haha
Let’s hope Balrog will have a Dudley-like alt costume. ^^
Look at 0:55 mark for something interesting
dagger_g’s guile is such a pain to play against lol. I have an even harder time getting in when I use gief.
how to make rog even fancier.
it’d be crazy good if no down charge is needed. cool but not practical.
Check out Aojiru on youtube. He’s a very solid boxer against many different opponents. Shows a great mix-up game and you could learn a lot by his play style. Here’s a match against viper with a nice set of combos…

So I’ve heard mixed answers, but is charge partitioning possible in SF4?
Nope, no and definitely not.
Thanks. Didn’t think so.
Nice collection of Japanese match videos, sorry if repost.
thx for the vids sir jabs
more aojiru vids. some of these are on minora’s account
a vid of me at a local tournament, any tips to up my balrog game would be much appreciated =)
i know i did way too many random headbutts. usually im more rushdown but earlier in winners semi i almost lost to the same guy cuz he would wait for the dash punch and ultra me out of it -_- so i had to calm down a bit…
anyways here it is

more c.hp,
more ex upper, c.lp x 2 xx hb
more throws (important)
more pressure
(ur sitting charging too often. often guys wont do stupid stuff if they know rog has down charge.
more mobility, dash more and force him into a corner
more j.hp (beats lots out of air)
less random hb
i strictly dont use supers as a juggle
mk/hk rush uppers > jump backs
ex dash straight/upper are dope AA
mix up with lows and overhead punches. (too monotone, your style)
but pretty good i’d say. keep it up
thank you!
i’m a complete noob(as you can tell by my post count) and something in Aojiru’s videos is confusing me. i’ve been learning Balrog and watching some good players play him and i’m wondering why Aojiru uses C.LPx3 xx HP Headbutt as one of his main combos. i read somewhere in this section not to use LPx3 xx Headbutt and to use C.LPx2 ~ C.LK xx HP Headbutt as the BnB combo. i was just wondering if i’m missing something.
c.lp x2 cannot be countered by reversal srks (hit confirmable too)
c.lp, c.lk can be reversaled on block.
c.lp, c.lk is simply easier to land, because c.lp must be linked, and some players like mashing.
personally, c.lp combos aren’t desirable over c.mk ones, but beginners should learn it due to its simplicity
I’ve been wondering, according to training mode c.mk - c.lk - hb does more than c.lp x2 c.lk - hb yet the latter is the one everyone seems to be using. Funnily, I find c.mk - c.lk easier to land, cos it feels like c.mk - c.mp from ST. Should I stick with that, then?
