I’ll go out on a limb and assume you’re being tempted by the great matches on show as opposed to some of the garbage someone like me usually throws up on YouTube but I still have to say it - Even at Low/Midlevel, Balrog (Being the most typically linear character in the game) can be an absolute barrel of fun to play as and you should give him some of your time, even if just in training to mess about with his moves.
Even after a solid year of SF4 with a “95% Balrog Played” record on my stats screen I have not tired of the big bad Boxer one incey wincey ikkle bit :rock:

As said, it may be all scrubby, but damn it’s a lot of fun. As we know, Balrog is pretty darn solid in the low/mid level department and is often highly represented in the top-level department by many varied, skillful and entertaining top-notch players.
Give him a go! You may quite enjoy it.
And if midlevel bollocks isn’t your thing, I still love watching this for encouragement (Afterall, it’s Maeda Taison) and the matches vs the Sagats are just… Delicious.

Wasn’t sure this was even possible (I know you can Ultra Blanka out of the air) but had no alternative and was thrilled it worked. So didn’t want to lose to the guy - Spends most of the rounds going for cheesy garbage and only plays properly when someone is close to a KO, annoying and harder to read.

Here’s me once again trying to look like I have half a clue about how to play SF4/Balrog. Granted, the opponent wasn’t too Abel experienced but some of the combo’s are funny (Lag made me KO in R1 with a NJump CJab CFierce of all things).
I’m no pro but sadly with no offline experience/possibilities I can only ever find matches in Online Fight Rec and as we all know GFWL / SF4 PC hasn’t exactly got the most experienced playerbase

Thanks - I’ll never stop making movies but I always keep in mind that most of the people I fight when I log on aren’t the best out there.
Anytime I log on SF4 I look for a challenge and if that challenge is a respectable one (Some people think they are awesome but tend to rely on random unplanned/tactless garbage) then I add them to friends list to practice with them - All I ever wanted from SF4 was to one day be able to make a movie that was on par with all the tournament footage and fights I’ve seen that encouraged me to buy the game in the first place. A year later and it’s still not happened (And I don’t think it ever will, I’m still not good enough).
But yep, you’re right, majority of my wins come from limited mindphucking and shinanigans which I think is more fun

question, I’ve been gettin abused by a vega players wall jump throws. i’ve tried crouching heavy, and reverse punch, and standin medium. but they all fail and the reverse punch only works on vega claws from wall dive.
