Need you guys for a sfV netcode test across the platforms

It would be great when someo people who owns both the ps4 and pc version of sf5
would be willing to come into this thread and test out the netcode quality with each other.

This test would include these platform setups.

User1 - User2
Ps4 to Ps4
Ps4 to PC
PC to PC
PC to PS4

To see if it makes any difference on which platform you play
and if things on your pc might affect the outcome.

Both system need to be plugged to your router via cable!
No Wlan please because this would add another factor which
might affect the outcome of the netcode test.

When you want to participate just post it here with your full specs of your pc, including which windows
version you use and what kind of Antivir/Firewall tools are installed or enabled including the Windows Defender.

i just own the pc version so i by myself cant participate but it would be great when we can find here enough different people
which goes trough these setups to either confirm that it doesnt make a difference on which platform you play or not.

@Hawkingbird / US
@LockM / EU
@“DevilJin 01” - US - Need to be cleared if he can participate.

I own both versions of the game. I spend more time on the PC version.

nice, so we at least need another person with both versions so that you guys can test it out.

I own both but only play on PS4 because everytime I play on PC it rollsback to hell after 10 seconds of every round.

Which region? US?

I have PS4 and PC and i’m in EU.

even against people where its fine on the ps4?
specs are fine?
do you use win10 and its firewall?
when not which one do you use and what kind of antivir/firewall tools do you use?

doesnt matter.
some people said they have good connections oversea so thats something which can be tested out then too.
the test isnt about you getting good matches its to see if the platforms make any differences.

can you and @Hawkingbird
add each other and do the testrun?
a first to 3 set on each platform test(see topic) should be enough.

it would be nice when you can edit in your posts your specs of the pc.
which system you have and what kind of firewall tools / antivir tools you use.
and if windows defender is aditionally on or not.

when you do the test make sure that just your pc or ps4 is connected to your router
via cable! no wlan please because of different wlan cards on pc and placement in the room which might
affect the outcome.

Both my PS4 and PC have wired internet connections. EU connections vary for me. I can have stable connections against the UK and France. Germany can give me problems.

@LockM
did you both made a testrun?

Not yet, actually completely forgot about it after i posted. I can do it today with @Hawkingbird if he’s up for it.

@appomo
I did the test with LockM. Being from the US I don’t think our results will amount to much. Especially since we didn’t record any footage to get any meaningful data. I’ll start with the worst connection from my end.

PC-PS4
This was easily the worst from my end. Frames kept skipping with rollback happening on hits. The frames would skip during the end animations which made following up on things a bitch. Jumps and back &forth pacing looked like teleports.

PS4-PS4
I got rollbacks on my end but they were less frequent. Not enough that I felt rendered in any major way

PC-PC-
I didn’t have any issues here. Though according to Lock I was teleporting like crazy.

did you not tested ps4-pc?
the distance doesnt really matter because its a test of consistency between the systems.
so either you get bad matches on all setups or not…and as it seems your experience differs quiet a lot based on what system you use.

@LockM
how was your experience?

thank you very much you two for testing it out. i hope some other people might join to give it a try.

PS4-PC was the same to me as PC-PC. I forgot to mention it.

It was almost completely the opposite for me. Left is me, right is Hawkingbird

PC-PC
Worst, i could barely see startup of some moves, constant skipping of frames, especially fast moves and jumps. By the time i could either see the move or the jump it was near the end of its animation or already on his way down from a jump.

PS4-PS4
There was frameskipping but stable, not too bad, there weren’t any big drops either. Was pretty playable.

PC-PS4
Almost the same as PC-PC but the big drops happened less often with the same moves, seems to confirm what HawkingBird said too, on his end it seemed fie while on my end it was pretty bad.

PS4-PC
This was the best situation for me. I had minimal teleporting and frameskipping. It was overall a pretty smooth match, very playable.

Some extra information.
I’m located in the Netherlands

@Hawkingbird What are your PC specs?

@LockM Sounds irrelevant probably, but do you mind posting HDD/SSD specs? If both, could you list which drive has SFV running during the time of testing?

@AceKombat
My specs

Connection

I’ll add myself to this again a bit later on. I tried to play online again yesterday and suddenly got very little to no rollbacks. If I get the crazy warping after 10 seconds again I’ll add myself to this.

why not testing it out direct when you have both systems.
do you have this issue just on pc or ps4 too?

Just PC. Yeah I’ll work out some stuff later on if it happens again.

I’ve got it on both systems too
just message me.

Region EU-Germany

pc specks and stuff would be nice to know.

@LockM

can you do a testrun with him?
