Well, it is easy to do guile’s jump in hp, s.hp xx sonic boom. But what about these two combos:
1)jump in hp, s.hp xx super hurricane kick.
2)jump in hp, s.hp xx hurricane kick.
I can’t do two of the above combos. Someone told me that they were possible, so would someone help with it if you know?
for both, hold down-back while in midair and until landing, as you land, release down-back (go to neutral on your pad/stick), hit HP, then immediately do the motion for the move
I have tried it so many times. It is darn difficult but I will keep practice. Thanks a lot!
by the way, how can you cancel the d.mp into his super sonic hurricane kick? It sometimes works for me in this way: do the d.mp then hold DOWN and then do the super. But most of the times, it hardly ever works.
it won’t work even if I do have the joystick back to neutral and immediately hit up. As what has been said, you must hold down downbackward the instant you jump, I just did what it was said. While jumping up, I hit the hp and then immediately held downbackward and as I landed I released the downbackward and have the joystick back to neutral and then hit the s.hp and the moment the s.hp connected, I hit up, which is what you told me right? However, it won’t work. WHY?
you’ve misunderstood… the point was to charge db as soon as was possible. not do it simultaneously with HP.
The timing for standing HP cancel into special/super is pretty strict, you’ll just have to practice until you get it.
In a step-by-step analysis:
Jump forward (ie; tap uf on your stick/pad).
Immediately after jumping forward, bring the stick/pad to db position so you maximize your charge time.
When you are at the appropriate height, hit HP to chop your opponent.
The moment Guile lands, bring the stick/pad back to neutral and hit HP for the side uppercut.
The moment you press the standing HP, do the rest of the motions quickly and accurately (df,db,uf -OR- u) and then press the appropriate kick button. You got to complete the special/super move input in the early part of his standing HP.
Since you can do already jump HP, st HP, sonic boom, try doing jump HP, cr MP, finish with flash kick (MK version) or sonic boom first to get the hang of charging low using the db position. Try doing those first.
Theres another motion you can use to get the flash kick super out…and its much easier
(charge) :db: :d: :df: :qcb: :ub: :hk:
So ill explain the combo step by step:
Jump in while charging db
Connect with the HP, and begin the controller motion. You should to time it so that by the time you land you are at the back position
Land and press HP while moving from back to up-back
4)immediately press HK when u reach the up-back position to complete the combo
(charge) :db: :d: :df: :qcb:+:hp: :ub:+:hk:
Remember the super must be performed with a quick fluid motion, and your button presses should sync up with it as shown.
Just a couple suggestions though, have u ever thought about cancelling into cr. HP instead? You will never accidently cancel into flash kick (which almost never connects as a 3 hit combo anyway), it does a bit more damage, and it is easier to do than the standing HP since the button timing is a bit more flexible. However the standing version does look more stylish.
Everyone else who posted gave sufficient info, hopefully this is another easy solution.
Anyway, what I am frustrated with is the time for charging the special/super. It seems that I never have enough time for charging them. I just did what you guys said with all the efforts. Some of the people said you MUST hold backward the instant you jump up and I think I do the right thing. But whenever I land and hit the s.hp and do the flashkick, nothing happen.
Isn’t the shortcut for Guiles super flashkick done with charge :db: :r: :df: :d: :db: :l: :ub: + :k: ? This is the motion that I’ve been using for a long time and I was also told to use this by Jame Chen and the guy who wrote a combo faq in gamefaqs. Connecting s.hp into his super flashkick is easy. But if you combine the them together—jump in hp, s.hp xx superflash kick, it is so much difficult. However, have you guys really ever done this before?
Won’t you have enough tine for the charging done with the shortcut since you have to start the motion the moment Guile is hitting his opponent with his jumping-in attack?
Well cancelling the d.mp into the flashkick and super flash kick is easy. I can do it most of the time. But when it comes to a three hit combo—jump in hp, s.hp xx super flashkick or special flashkick, it is so darn difficult.
I tested this combo on a dreamcast using a standard controller before posting any response, and yes it will work, but it did take me a few tries ill admit. There is plenty of time for you to charge up for the super, i mean PLENTY of time, just do what everyone else said and charge down IMMEDIATELY after you press uf …and it doesnt matter which controller motion u use, you have time to charge either way.
If you get a regular flashkck instead of the super one, then most likely youre not pressing the kick button fast enough. An important thing to know about buffering is that you must press the button to activate the super while the normal move move is in its bufferable state. So you would be pressing the kick button for the super the moment the st. HP is actually making contact. That should give you an idea of how fast the timing is.
But like Rook said, you may just have to find out for yourself through practice, and all the info you need is on this page.
Quick question thats pretty much on topic, unfortunatly my worthless brother took his PS2 back so I can’t play any CvS2, or I’d test this out myself, would it be possible to do…

Of course stick on a flash kick at the end in C I’d think, but how would that compare damage wise if it could even work? Again, sorry I didn’t test it on my own, but like I said, stupid brother, thanks in advance.
Not too practical but yea it works…i tend to use lp, lk xx lvl 2, since its easy to pull of on the ground and there is no sonic boom coming out by mistake, and the chances of landing a point blank hp are pretty slim overall, even a jump in hp is rare. As far as damage goes, the difference is negligible considering the risk factor is much lower when using faster normals.
I am still in doubt. I have tried several times or more than expected, but it won’t work. The reason is that it takes less than two seconds to have Guile leaves the ground and chops his opponent with his J.HP. Mostly you have to hold for two seconds before you do the special move, which is also included in the capcom guidebook.
Welllll…if you do the shortcut motion for his super, it seems impossible to do the s.hp into his super flashkick. Since you hafta press the <-- + HP, it will usually end up with Guile’s throwing his opponent instead of doing his ARM UPPERCUT(s.hp) and that it fails. When I try to do the shortcut motion to his super flashkick, it mostly winds up like this, with Guile throwing or tossing his opponent, WHY and HOW COME?
Its not really 2 full seconds…more like 1.2 seconds or something like that…and like i said YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO CHARGE. Please trust me on this…And if you live anywhere near SVGL then ill even demonstrate for you…
Not neccessarily. Here’s how to avoid getting a throw rather than st.HP:
Opponent must be in an unthrowable state, so combo off a st.lp or a jump in attack
or
Charge the super, then hit neutral+hp and immediately do the controller motion starting with db
or,
use a cr.hp instead…looks the same, does the about the same damage, no flash kick by mistake, and best of all u can use it as bait if allowed to follow through…even a reversal lvl 3 cant beat its recovery.
Seriously if you cant get this combo to work its not the end of the world…
so if it doesn’t need two seconds for charging, why is it so darn difficult to pull it off. In my opinion, it is not so hard as not to be able to do it. I really have faith in you, but I guess there must be something hidden in the move itself rather than just simply do the motion and press just a rediculous button and that will work. I do not know why I always fail to do this damn combo, I wish there would be an answer to it. Anyway, if you had a video that show all the details of the combo, that would be much better. I won’t give up so easily, I will keep trying to see what’s gonna happen, perhaps I could pull it off somedays. :xeye:
Um just use Sonic Hurricane lol. It’s a lot easier. And when I do supers like that, I do charge dwn back, hcf, hcb, up. But just stick to Sonic Hurricane.
