I have a SE ps3 Fightstick and i am trying to get it to work so i can play GGPO with it. Is there any software options I have or do I “NEED” to buy hardware.
Usually hardware, but I usually just mod the stick instead of mess with the PC. Most people say you just need a different PCI card.

Just ask them to install a PS3 Cthulhu if you want PC games. Works on all chipsets as a UHID, like a mouse or keyboard.
would it be easier if I got it dual modded with the 360 since the 360 has PC drivers?

Maybe harder for the modder. But any modder worth their sauce should be able to easily dual mod PS3 for 360.
Dual-modding with a 360 PCB would be the more versatile option, most likely. And if you’re getting somebody else to do it, yeah, probably the better one.
Seems like a bitch to find a modder here in the Daytona Beach area, is there any solder free options kinda like plug and play? I have never soldered anything in my life. ^^;;;
You’re talking like $10 for a new pci usb card and they are a snap to put in. Way easier and cheaper than trying to mod anything. You just need one with a via chipset on it like this one:

Unfortunately if you have a newer motherboard model it may only have pci express slots, and I’m not seeing any usb addon cards with a via chipset.

its only with intel based processors or something like that

Yeah looks like your board has an NEC chipset on it’s USB which is incompatible with the Ps3 sticks. That card should work fine for you. Supposedly any VIA chipset is compatible. Good luck 
Have you tried using the Motioninjoy driver? You can use a Sixaxis or Dualshock 3 controller on your PC with it, so it might work with your stick. It’s mentionned in some of he later pages in the thread Nerrage posted in case you haven’t gone through the whole thing.
