Hey all im having a little trouble with 3rdstrike on mame… it works fine it loads up and I can play and everything. The problem is when i play it STUTTERS and lags like crazy and makes it unplayable. My computer is fine and is more than enough to run it so its not that… ive tried to figure this out for hours and I just dont know what it is does any one have any solutions?
There could be many reasons for this.
- Are you on a school labtop sharing your network?
- Maybe you have an antivirus program which automatically adds updates
- Your internet connection is slow
- They type of connection you’re playing (good, excellent, lan) is too high which leads to lag
- YOUR OPPONENT MIGHT BE EXPERIENCING ONE OF THESE ALSO which would cause the same problem on your side
no no no… ithink you misunderstood… not online does it lag well it does online but im saying OFFLINE it stutter steps and runs really slow… but I just did experementing… It runs fine and smoothe on 0.119 but on 0.117 it stutters…
ctrl+alt+delete. click with the right mouse button on the mame emulator, set priority to high. i have the same problem, but that takes care of it
Didnt work =\
delete everything in your mame folder except the following:
your mame exe
the kailleraclient.dll
the roms
then reconfigure everything
what kailleraclient.dll should I be using what update
Option -> Default Game Options -> Advanced -> Video Output Method -> Direct Draw
Happened to me and a friends computer and this solved it.
Didnt work
If your computer has the specifications to run mame’s 3s, and you still hve this issue, make sure your processor isn’t overheating as mame is very processor independent. I had the issue where the first round of play was okay, but then stuttered like crap. Eventually, I discovered my processor was running at 65+ degrees. I have a prescott p4 btw. If you’re computer savvy, check to see how dusted up your heatsink and fan are. If they’re all boogered up, take either a can of compressed air and a toothbrush afer you remove the heatsink/fan and just clean all that shit out. Reapply thermal greese (after cleaning the old gunk off) to the processor and reattach your shit. This might be too much for you to doo, but at least find out if you have a motherboard temperature sensor (download motherboard monitor and check your temps).
edit, nm, you said it worked on 119 so this probably isn’t your problem. I had this problem before too and just reinstalled my mame and instant fix.
I finally got it working… I just did what a couple people said and started from scratch and reinstalled everything. Now if anyone wants to play ill be on GodWeapon and my alias is Slip so send me a message if your ever on there and wanna get some games in!
Also thanks for all the replys trying to help me I appretiate it.
