I am kind of re-learning basic Street Fighter since the last one I have really played was 3rd strike and then I got into Marvel for a good few years. When playing this , I see that the game is very link heavy and I am like "Okay, this seems fun."
The problem that I have is that I cannot do the most basic of links in the game efficiently. C.LP > C.LP > C.LK for example will come out like once every 4 times I input it. If i go to training room and throw out the moves, they would come out in a reasonable manner and look usable, but when I am hitting a blocking opponent the inputs get eaten by the game and it only registers the first move and then the third at a very delayed time.
Is there something that I am missing here? I know that P-linking is an option since I have seen players on streams not use P-links for a variety of characters and be able to hold their own.
I looked at other beginner’s thread and they are mainly just terminology or links to other forums/videos.
Just practice. It’s all about timing. Like playing a musical instrument and playing on beat. If it sounds wrong, it’s because you were off beat. If the links didn’t combo it’s because your timing was off.
just put it the dummy on auto block the dummy in training mode and if the hit after the first hit gets blocked then i u probably did it too late and if the second hits whiff u did it too early so practice the timing.
I have been trying on the dummy and the hits being in rhythm feels off every time. I am used to rhythm presses with Tekken and their system, but when i hit a blocking opponent in this game it’s very awkward. In an online match, it devolves to me mashing C.LK like 4-5 times to get a simple block string of 2 LKs (followed by an accidental lightning legs if I am playing Chun Li). It’s like this game skips frames of recovery whenever it feels like it some times even though i know it isn’t. So irritating.
