I was wondering if someone could help me out with the button wiring for this pcb. I have seen the threads on this topic already and that’s where my interest in using the pcb came from. I had an old controller laying around and I’m now building my fight stick with this pcb. It seems that the people who have used the pcb’s were not true members, which results in me not knowing how to contact them. (This one in particular… http://shoryuken.com/f177/show-us-your-project-boxes-184506/index2.html#post6787337)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Read up about wiring and stuff on slagcoin: Joystick Controller - PCB and Wiring
Though, I haven’t seen the Guitar Hero PCB used much. Not sure if it’s Common Ground. If it was, it’d be a nice and cheap source for wireless 360 controllers.
Most of them either aren’t common ground or don’t have enough buttons I’m pretty sure. I think the standard one only has like 5 buttons?
I believe the Guitar hero pcb lacks too many buttons, and Right and Left for the d-pad
The Guitar Hero controller has d-pad UDLR, start, select, guide and ABXY. But it only has one of the RB, RT, LB, LT (can’t remember which).
The Newer Xbox 360 and PS3 versions does but I do not think the PS2 version or the older Xbox 360 guitar PCB has a functional d-pad.
OP never stated what version of the controller he had.
Thanks for all of the replies, the controller that I am using is the one that came with Guitar Hero III - Legends of Rock. There is a functional d-pad on there, as well as the 5 actual buttons, select, and start. From my understanding on the previous threads, I can disable the pedal input and convert it into a 6th button. Something to note from the other threads is that there is no common ground between all of the buttons, some are shared and some aren’t.
I am presently looking into a quick fight stick pcb that wont cost me money, though I know that I can just jump on a used mad catz controller at gamestop, if this is truly not going to work.
I am linking my imageshack album so you guys can see all the pcbs that are attached to the main one. I imagine little soldering is required because everything is pre-wired. Tell me if you need additional info.

Also, this is the other thread that I am referencing… http://shoryuken.com/f177/using-guitar-hero-controllers-source-pcbs-183505/index3.html
i have used an xbox 360 x-plorer controller as a pcb and you just barely have enough buttons for a fightstick. ABXY and two others. cant remember if its RB, LB, LT, or RT. Its a bit of work and organization cause its not common ground, but it worked. Also be wary if you want to dual mod in the future, do you have any other questions about it?
edit: also, page not found on a lot of your links… its probably cause of the srk format change
