The whole point is to just leave original alone and make the back ground with out the light effect
The two line that extend into the central light ball is suppose to have sharp ending, but I can’t take away the light ball without making the symbol look uneven or ugly
can someone please help me with this

u want the 1st image to look exactly like the 2nd image?
y not jus trash the 1st image and use the 2nd image?
or r u sayin u jus want a simple black and white image wit that intricate shape and no special effects?
if so, then ur best bet is to take it into illustrator and trace the shape using the pen tool
(can also be done in photoshop)
ur 2nd best bet is to use select->colour range and brush tool to touch it up
edit: omg im so bored i actually did it ~__~
i did the 2nd method tho because its faster and only took me 2 mins
but results in lower quality image due to the edges either being jagged lines or anti-aliased
