ok im trying to add three extra buttons to my mk klassic fight stick wich i want first button like im pressing x+a , then next button to be like pressing a+y , then last button like pressing x+b i cant seem to figure out how to wire them to do this plz help some one
the way to do this is with ether diodes or discrete hex inverter like toodles’ 360^ helper board.
great i thought i could parrelel wire them to on button but it makes them not work so plz can you be more specific on how to do this plz im a noob
Here is diagram I drew for some ungrateful Dick who never came back to thank.
[Removed. Only for nice people.]
Not what you want.
But the way is same doing.
well thanks for trying but if some one could tell me exactly what i need and how to set it up that would be great
That diagram jdm posted is pretty much what you want to follow, you need to separate your signals by diodes. Just substitute the directions for the buttons you would want to use.
If you got a Button that does X + A, but you want your normal A and X buttons to be separate you have to separate the lines electronically so that the A or X buttons do not do both A and X. Diodes are like little one way flow values or gates for electricity.
Parallel wiring would not work. As you be mixing all your signals together, it be like having Your A, X, and A+X buttons all acting as A+X.
Also keep in mind the MK Klassic fight stick, like the MK Tournament Fightstick both by PDP is not common ground, so you have to have diodes on both leads going to your buttons.
If you still do not understand what you have to do at this point I don’t recommended continuing on your own. Yes we could try to walk you though each step.
Practically hold your hand, but without any of us physically there, if you make a mistake in your wiring, example putting diodes backwards is a common mistake.
We not be able to help you though where you made your error.
dark im not completely noob i know to do some stuff , so is there a specific type of diaod i need and could you show me a picture of the one i need thanks
Would this be how to do it using diodes

I apologize if I offended you I do appreciate the drawing I was just a little confused as to what it meant you didn’t need to remove the picture

Is the diagram I drew correct plz let me know

Without having to know what is your knowledge or skill set I can’t assume one way or another, but when writing I (or another writer) have to decide you (the reader) possess the reliant knowledge and skills or not. I decided for completion sake to write as if you and other readers lack electrical knowledge needed. For the sake completion, and clarity I have no choice but assume you are new to this. The level of understanding you displayed so far does not suggest otherwise, as the questions you are asking are beginer level questions.
I am just being as straight forwards as I can in order to reduce as much confusion as possible.
And I did mean it when I say if you can conceptualize what the mod entails you might be over your head. This isn’t meant to be rude, but I was being truthful.
As for diode you need, most though hole silicone small diodes will work. Pretty much what ever cheap diodes you can pick up at radio shack, frys or even spark fun would work. Keep attention to the markings on the diode as that will indicate what direction electricity can flow though and which way it will not. The usually comes in packs of 5 or more.
They should resemble this picture.
As for installation you can do one of two metiods
[]splice the diode right into the lines you need with some solder and ether shrink wrap tubing or electrical tape. Shrink wrap tubing is better than tape.
[]you can solder the diode to a piece of pref board, and solder your wires to the pref board.
This is the diagram you will need. I only drew the signal lines here, but for the PDP PCB (and other non-common ground PCBs) you have to repeat the same steps for the ground lines.
Notice that the wires splicing together for the buttons do not join together until after the diodes.
This is as far as I am taking it, you are on your own unless someone else decides to step in and help. If you are still having issues I suggest finding a modder who can do this for you.
Thank you very much dark one question thou do I need diodes on the ground return also or just the signal side

What arcade stick do you have?
If it is ether PDP MK arcade sticks, the answer is yes.
If you have a Mad Catz or Hori stick, the answer is no.
jdm, isn’t the direction of the electron flow goes into the point of the arrows of the diode?
I notice our diagrams are practically the same except for the direction of the diodes.
I could just fail to realize the polarity of the wiring, which have to be taken in account of the mod.

Last question is a 1A nte diode good enough I noticed there is diffrent milli amp types up to a 3A
