Well.
In Vanilla I played C.Viper/Mag/Morrigan.
My strategy was to Morigan meter build assist C.Viper on point. My opponent would either have to stand full screen and stay away of my Viper (a lot of people don’t feel confident in close against Viper)
and let me build an absurd amount of meter and possibly eat EX Thunder Knuckle trying to projectile punish it—or— they would have to come in close against my Viper, which is usually what I want instead of them trying to zone me out.
If for instance my Viper died quick, I usually was able to build a couple bars of meter and Mag would come in deadly with a level 3 ready or almost ready.
Morrigan was my anchor and I was successful with her finishing my fights/making comeback.
Anyways to get to the point. I am a long time Strider Hiryu player. Since Marvel 1 I was a Strider/Gambit main. I have explained my dilemma as being similar to this: I had a girlfriend (Strider) and she moved away. I hooked up with another girl (C.Viper) and then my ex came back (Strider) and now I must choose. I have invested all this time and effort into C.Viper, mastering her really hard cancels, box dash loops, ect, but Strider was my first Marvel main ever—so I GOTTA play with him.
I’m currently doing Strider/RR/Nemesis as a fun Ultimate team and having success. I know Strider is best as an anchor but for fun/nostalgia reasons Ilike him on point.
RR’s log assists is great with Strider and creates a lot of set ups and salt.
My main problems with RR is damage. On a team with Strider/RR/Nem thats leaving me with 2 characters who tickle for damage where with my old team Viper/Mag/Morrigan two of my characters averaged 600-700k. Not a whole lot of RR technology is out yet as not a bunch of people play him. I can’t do his fancy loops yet with his air M,M land, repeat or whatever. I am not sure how to get into the 700k’s with him practically yet. I will say this though that more than any other character I have ever played with I open people up with RR the most. His ground teleport, traps, log, ect are hard for a lot of people to deal with.
Nemesis is good and fun, but I am not sure how to use him. I hear he plays like She-Hulk with more damage and super armor, but I can’t even find out which of his moves have super armor. Right now it seems like way less than Hulk. I am trying to get good at Kara-canceling his H normals into command grabs but not with a lot of success. To be honest so many characters in this game are so much smaller than him that I think they whiff most of the time. He’s an ok anchor against scrubs/intermediates, but I notice that against good people that he is too easily blocked unless I land a command grab. (Might just be my lack of experience with Nem and big characters in general)
I have thought about putting both Strider and C.Viper on the same team, but they don’t mesh well. Its hard for me to have 2 characters who basically die in 1 hit and serve a somewhat similar team function (eat meter like crazy and rush down). Maybe its possible, though. Burning kick assist to wall cling could create some hard to block opportunities.
I have dropped Magneto pretty much because now his H knocks them so far I can’t do any of my vanilla fly/unfly combos.
Please help and thanks to those who read everything.
