Need help ( Agetec DC fight stick --> USB pad PCB )

Firstly, please forgive me if this mod has previously been discussed, but I cannot seem to find the specific answers I’m looking for.

Project: Wire an Agetec Dreamcast arcade stick directly to Logitech Dual Action USB gamepad PCB

Problem I encountered is after successfully wiring A,B,X, and Y buttons, the C, Z and Start buttons seem to all trigger the A button when I try to map them to the gamepad.

Desired mapping: C—> R2, Z—> R1, Start—>Start (imagining usual PS2 style layout)

For A,B,X and Y, I used the already daisy-chained grounds on the buttons mapped to a single ground on the gamepad.

But when I add more buttons it would seem that either they share a separate ground, or perhaps
I have something shorted out somewhere. ( I was able to slightly remedy the situation by making a separate shared ground for R1,R2 and Start, but these now trigger both the desired buttons AND the A button. )

I believe I may have read somewhere here that perhaps these ground problems may arise until all of the wiring is completed.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here is my guide on the Agetec

I think the possible issue is that the Logitech pad may not be a common ground controller or less common/worst the pad is hack resistant.

I honestly recommend for PC and PS3 use to get the Toodles Cthulhu PCB. You can order it directly from toodles at http://godlikecontrols.com/
It is a easier and cleaner install that using the Logitech pad, there little to no soldering required and there lots of support documents.
