For the most part a lot of this stuff seems irrelevant or super niche, there isnt any amazing stuff to be found with Chris just a bunch of small negligible things
Haven’t seen it mentioned here yet so I thought I’d pop in: If Chris has got a grounded juggle going he can cross under the opponent with his slide kick and input a special at different times for a mixup, or tag in his partner for their own.
So for example off of say, Magnum wall bounce you could: F.lp -> lk -> HP -> slide kick -> Combo Punch either before or after you slide under. Or tag in a character that can hit 'em with a command grab or something.
Also, definitely liking that Chris/Spencer stuff. It looks neat, if nothing else.
I have this feeling Chris may have been super OP during development and they may have found stuff that just made him ridiculous. As I get better with Chris I can see situations where Land Minds and Grenades being super dangerous if they stayed on the ground. It would just allow Chris to keep them in block stun all day. Perhaps they pre-nerfed him because of this, the same reason they pre-nerfed FANG (I assume) in SFV. Its a shame because when you see characters like Dormmy and Cap.Marvel doing their BS, you really wish they kept the cheap stuff with Chris. Its really a struggle. I hope it turns around soon.
I have some interesting tech and combos I want to post in the future hopefully help inspire some more Chris players. things I just haven’t seen anyone do yet.
Short super jump HK in neutral isn’t that good. He’s always on the defense due to his lack of movement. Hulk has more movement than him.
That’s my problem with him, he feels so limited because of his lack of movement.
Who’s a good partner for chris? Chris himself kind of feels like an “assist tier” character.
Im sure a LOT of characters are good for him but Hulk seems like a good pair due to his armor and size… I’ve seen people team him up with Nemesis due to his consistent armor but I kind of hate Nemesis as a character but i’ve had some tough fights against them.
I think fChamp or someone was trying a Thanos and Chris with Thanos on point which might help increase your damage output since his Cosmic Wheel hits like a train.
Personally I have no problems with movment because I never thought Chris to be a character designed for movment. he is a keep away character, the problem is how bad his Mines and Grenades are. If they fix it where it don’t get destroyed by literally anything, he would be able to hold his ground without having to jump around all day.
Lastly I pair him with Time Stone, its really good for getting out of sticky situations and allows him to play a good keep away.
I have gotten the old learn to do more than spam gun all day messages…but to be honest I don’t find there is not much more you can do than play keep away with Chris until an opening comes up. But yeah, If the grenades are gonna get destroyed by everything at least don’t have so many frames of vunerablity…you literally get kicked in the face before the move even comes out by most rush down chars.
As a Chris main, i find him lots of fun. I play the runaway game with jumping HK and slide hoping i can sneak in a knock down then combo into my Grenade super to set up my Dr Strange. I use space stone now but going to substitute into Power against rushdown enemies; Ultron, Chun, Zero, and Marvel to try and keep them at bay cause Chris crumbles against opponents that stay in his face. I do hope they buff his mine and grenades to help his zoning game. If yall are down to spar, add me psn im_ticklish
Sorry guys it’s been a while. I wanted to share that I’ve perfected a Bread and butter combo that works anywhere and does 6k and is pretty easy to do. The science behind it is that you need to use up your wall bounce so It’s easier to combo to grenades. You can do level 3 but it’s very tight and not easy. Hope this help you out.
Jump Hp. forward or regular lp, lk, hp , hk, slide, combo punches lp - one more, lk, hp, down hp, j.lp, .j.lk. jhp. j.hk (you need to delay this depending how you’re positioned to the opponent. but not too much) land Magnum- Grenade. If you have any questions let me know.
Time stone setup. You can probably do a bunch of resets or go for the damage as shown. Or you can combo to grenade.

ROFL just send them a #dealwithit and keep on trucking. With all the crazy bs in this game like Dormu Thornz and Gamoras invincible guns? NO ONE should be complaining about Chris gun play. Its literally all he has.

As it turns out it helps him a lil bit lol. This is merely magnum, hk, magnum, and another magnum into super for fuck sake. 5k damage if you catch somebody slipping from near full screen. He still needs his mine to last even if he’s blocking, and his grenade needs a lower arc and proximity explosion. But yeah the extra damage is cool.
