Need a Modder in Your Area? Check This Post

Hi,

Anyone located in the UK? Got a bespoke request.

Thx

Iā€™m looking to piece out my job to specialists.

payment and schedule terms

The job is partially done. And I donā€™t need it done at a particular speed. Also I can gradually pay for work over time because Iā€™m on Social Security Disability due to a lifetime problem. I also donā€™t mind splitting the job if you feel comfortable with one aspect but not another. you only obliged to work for as much as I pay for it.

warning in advance: hyper custom order. Plus my handicap my get in the way of communications

I will admit 2 things. There are specifics I want because in addition to being a personal stick. It will serve as a prototype for an introductory mass market stick. If I have a specific way I want something done, there is a design decision. Feel free to a) understand the project. B) make suggestions on the way itā€™s ā€œnormally doneā€ and c) check to see if my solution helps solves problems. Remember: prototype for an off the shelf beginner model .

and I know my ideas are kind of unconventional. I also under donā€™t understand what are the general standards and conventions of joystick workers on srk. Letā€™s just say me and Stan head-butted over many of these issues because he assumed something I did not or vice versa, I would literally at opposite sides until one of us says something to bridge the gap. My handicap deals with emotional autistic like problems. I see many things other people canā€™t but Iā€™m blind things that are blatantly obvious in other ways. just keep that in mind when communicating with me and try to understand me and be trying to understand you.

The main features are:

  1. Ambidextrtity
  2. Project box style sticks with fightbpcbs and pad hacks (and even direct input adapters) to work on ā€œeverything from the 2600 to the 360ā€
  3. Easy button programming by consumer standards, not by DIY modder standards .
"already done, main controller

In 2008, I hired Stan the Man Escolano to build my dream stick. Since I was using a new custom ambidextrous layout that I designed, he had to drill it and build the joystick from scratch except for the joystick parts that already pre exist. Heā€™s a great woodworking electrician. I think I might have been his first joystick client. Either he misunderstood my directions and quoted me a generous price or I misspoke and only got the bare minimum based on my misconveying my intentions. I hired him again to round 2018 and weā€™re still going on. We had a couple of head but stages, but Stan admits that most of his training was on the fly training. But he parlayed my experience in the building other sticks. I even did an experimental wiring theory that turned out to be true and I got myself an ambidextrous joystick that is easy to switch between left-handed Street Fighter in right hand Street Fighter just by pulling out one plug and putting it in another hole.

also we started the Project Box concept that I heard about elsewhere and SRK. The project box helps make installing new pcbs easier just by simply plugging it in and taking it out cuz Iā€™m doing that anyway for lefty-righty mode. The ones currently done are Brook USB Universal (minus one or two important hookups: PS4 touchpad and Nintendo switch capture pus its ground), a paradise Cthulhu, and a pad hacked 3 button and 6 button Genesis pad. (One hookup we came loose. Start doesnā€™t work on the 6 buttonitā€™s just a matter of we hooking it and I donā€™t know how to use a soldering gun at all let alone well.). also I have temporary cardboard boxes holding my pcbs but I would like to switch to something else thatā€™s a little more sturdy and easier to inspect in case.

What remains.

Telephone operator style button reassigner.

somewhere between me describing it and stand working on its doors design for a telephone operator style button switcher by using 3.5 mm to go from the source to destination and a switch buttons you just change one end of the 3.5 mm cable or both. I didnā€™t see how we wired it but something got lost in the translation cuz thereā€™s only two db37 this and not four on it.

Project Box pad hacks.

I eventually need all these systems working: and Iā€™m eventually going to need two copies of each for a second joystick.
Nintendo 64, Wii Classic Controller Pro, Atari Jaguar Panasonic 3DO, Atari 7800. ColecoVision super action buy Edladdin. Also a 15-pin NES style PC pad.

3 project boxes with no pad hacking due to direct imports. And a custom circuit to be built for one padhack Project Box

Also I need direct input adapters for the following systems: Sega Master System, Bally astrocade, Atari 2600 booster grip.

finally as far as project boxes, I need some kind of circuit built to deal with the intellivision controller. There are links to it on the atariage.com website. At least two proposed Sega Master System joystick adapters for Intellivision.

odds and ends

Then thereā€™s couple odds and ends, like a numeric keypad assigner, which assigns a button on my joystick to be a keypad press on one of the keypad based systems. But itā€™s not as simple as 1 wire equals one signal. But I have done research and found the theory on how it works. It reads multiple pins together as a code. I understand the code for Intellivision and 5200 both using a row/column system. The Edladdin coleco comes pre-coded, and the only way to do it easily with the Jaguar is to pad hack it which Iā€™m willing to sacrifice a standard Jaguar controller for, at heard standard Jaguar pads can be turned into Pro pads, just buy mainly wiring certain number keys.

also for keypad heavy games I would like some sort of thing to hold a real controller so that itā€™s on the same level as the joystick.

Finally I want to discuss how to add 3 extra buttons on a creative way to do it without destroying the current joystick. I was planning to have built either a pacland or track and field controller or one that could have just between the two use the unused plug and turn it L3, R3, and touchpad/capture.

If any TV technician can take directions and wire something I was going to hire them with a $25 estimate and the estimate going towards labor if itā€™ll save significantly on shipping just somewhere outside Northeast Ohio.

and also was wondering if it were any bigger handles for my joystick. I got a bat stick for the same joystick thatā€™s on the Street Fighter 4 Pro edition, bought a bat handle. It may sound like a bad r-rated joke but I want a grip it with my whole fist. Not just my middle finger, index finger,;and thumb.

And I would finally like a clear bottom with a proverbial trap door for easy access to the 4-way/8-way switch, so any ref and tournament organizer could see thereā€™s no circuitry shenanigans going on inside.

As I said take care of the parts you can ignore the parts you either donā€™t know enough or as not a good at or things you donā€™t normally know.

Iā€™m willing to ship anywhere within the nation of the United States, Iā€™m willing to wait in between more important jobs the have to be done by a tournament date. I will either split the job or keep it with one person. If youā€™re willing to wait youā€™ll eventually get the money, and I promise to pay as I come, meaning you get paid first, then you work. But I canā€™t afford all the work at once.

Yes it is nice that you have a modder list organized by geography.

but Iā€™m willing to transport my equipment anywhere in the United States.

I donā€™t want to just blindly write modders who may or may not be right for me.

Maybe a list of modders by specialty would be good. In various categories.

Iā€™m looking for Project Box pad hackers, and one thing Iā€™m not sure if it exists yet but a telephone pad operator button switching device. Since I doubt thereā€™s one who obviously check yes for my specific action, maybe the category should be ā€œexperimentalā€ also custom box builder would be another category Iā€™d be interested in. And a good person to put in that category is Stan Escolano of California. I got a sick and ambidextrous design eventually one have done thatā€™s a non flippable design wood door sticks for dual shooters like Robotron, Smash TV, etc.
