Necalli General Thread: Necalli enters the Tournament!

You’re right that works for me too, so there is a range difference. I was testing by trying to line my heel up with the edge of a lemon and get a range where only one would work.

Based on this I estimate the range advantage of V-Trigger overhead to be less than a quarter of a lemon.

That’s a godlike measuring instrument tbh

But yeah, I agree with you that the opponent needs to be trained to not hit buttons first.

His slashes in v-trigger also have an extra hit absorb of projectiles (might be EX only I don’t remember now).

I’m curious what you guys do after your usual combo ender (lp or ex slash generally)? For all the other characters I tried I can easily find a meaty after their practical combos that covers both quickrise and backroll and once people finally stop hitting jab every god damn time you can work out some more interesting mixups, but I can’t get anything with Necalli. I feel they were afraid of auto timed meaty command grabs, I dunno.

Just figured out that cross-up j.mk > c.hp combos in V-Trigger. Doesn’t normally. Gives cross-up combos a bit more sauce when in V-Trigger.

I feel crossups are a little obvious with him (and in the game in general)

If his dive kick was a little better then the crossup game would be better because you could land in front.

The word on Twitter is, his Crush Counters (Cr. HP and St. HK) send opponents flying instead of keeping them grounded. This is according to the footage seen in the recent Madcatz exhibition. Can anyone confirm?

Edit - Nevermind. Serves me right for relying on Twitter for info. CC is still clearly grounded.

They changed his st.HP to a knockdown CC which I think is really unnecessary given that it will be everyone’s go to DP punish for a bit at release. cr.HP was given knockdown CC awhile ago I’m pretty sure

I think he still has two. His overhead and St.hk

Supposedly no more grounded cc for necalli based on mad catz tourney, freaking terrible decision by capcom.

I def saw a s.hk do a grounded CC. Didn’t notice any changes to his CCs to be honest, though I didn’t see an overhead hit CC.

Combofiend makes Necalli look amazing. Mike Ross last night raging was epic!

What the hell is sp00ky talking about on that stream? He’s like a roaring tidal wave of misinformation.

st.hp or cr.hp making the opponent airborne or immediately knocking them down when crushcountered is really unnecessary, it fucks you up more than it helps. It fucks you up for punishment combos, it fucks you up when trying to use it as a frametrap.

Link mah dude?

But that’s how all the air knockdown CCs work, like Ryu’s s.hp, Chun’s b.hp, Cammy’s old cr.hp, etc. They want 2 categories of CCs and one is worse than the other.

Necalli even has it easy since you can buffer into stomp regardless of block or hit. Other characters in general have to OS the CC.

3 different categories even; spin (extended hitstun), crumple (same as SFIV with the small grounded period and then longer airborne period) and launcher (juggle state).

The way I interpreted it was it knocks opponent in the air from a grounded cc

Imma just leave this here and say good day to you sir’s  enjoy my latest video !! let me know if you guys enjoyed and if there was anything in here you didn’t know about ! Thanks!

I think the position you’re left in after finishing that with EX stomp is less useful than just doing EX charging slash into the corner and pressuring on wake up. The stomp leaves you +2 at a range where you can’t do a great deal, you’re going for a c.MK but your c.MK will actually lose to most character’s own 5 frame c.MKs in that position, as will the command grab.

Pressing a button beats everything you’re doing in the video. So does backdashing for that matter. Or a neutral jump. Just take the knockdown, damage and corner carry and be happy.

Edit: Now I actually watch the whole video… You’re attempting to test this by recording Ryu randomly mashing a button and then taking control of Necalli. I’m editing this to make clear that at this point I am not certain whether you are serious or whether this is a very dedicated troll persona.
