I’m assuming you’re still new to fighting games?
Every normal that is cancelable is also buffereable for a set amount of frames. So u can throw out a cancelable normal and buffer the special preemptively, if u time it right it will only come out on hit or block, but not on whiff.
This is applicable to a lot of other fighter games as well, and has been known for ages.
also I have a much better more relevant video coming anyhow. I am going to be working on it today. Maybe Ill get it out today though i doubt it as going through the cast is going to be a bch
Oh ok, It wasn’t obvious what u had discovered with all that editing of yours, and based on what some people had been replying it seemed like u just found out what buffering was, my bad.
Buffering lights into specials is generally not that useful since they’re very limited in terms of combos and also deal little damage. Buffering from a medium or heavy is almost always a better option.
Yep but its very useful in this game and very safe and if you have CA you get 40% of their max hp to their sweep. Its not the same with all characters tho so im unsure about certain characters. But with nash vs ryu its totally worth using as 1 connection is 40% and ryu only has sweep and CA to retaliate.
There’s nothing to nerf, it’s just a clever way of inputting the move. Every character can do stuff like this, it’s just particularly useful for getting around the circle-back part of the input.
It’s no different from doing a DP shortcut, or a 360 shortcut.
You need to walk forward 2f in order to get in range to throw the guy. In a world with no buffer you’d hold 6 for 2f then hit 3 2 1 4P for 1f each. In a world with a buffer you hit 63214 during recovery and then press 6, hold for one frame and hit P. That’s coming out 4f faster than the bufferless world.
Idk if anyone has posted this before, but I found something funny using my “evaluation copy:” if you reset the opponent of an EX command grab with st.MK, depending on how early/late you can reset them you can go for an ambiguous setup with j.MK. you can even get the j.MK to hit crossup and you land in front.
I’m using beta 2 though so I’ve no clue if it will work with the current chars
