Necalli General Thread: Necalli enters the Tournament!

a lot has changed since then so i was surprised it was still in. the st.mk one you mention is handy too because you can use that to go into target combo, v skill. not only that, it’s perfect for command grab setups too.

Yeah it’s unfortunate you can’t use it to build v-meter.

My theory gameplan with him is to get into v-trigger ASAP, even forgoing damage for the target combo punish. I’m even looking for meaty setups into v-skill just for the garanteed v-meter since there’s no oki.

So far I think his v-trigger is the most impactful of all characters: safe specials, light confirms, faster, more damage, working divekick, etc… Even his v-skill becomes a decent projectile with much better frame data (it seems) and without nearly all the drawbacks a traditional projectile has. You can v-skill bison for days with his slow walkspeed whereas you really can’t throw fireballs further than 1/2 screen away vs him.

his dive kick is really good. it hits in a way that you’d get dp’d for doing it at that angle in sf4. you can hit them right in the head and then combo into st.lp.

I flagged you because you were “hating on” me. I’m not hating on Laura at all. Rest of the grapplers? You mean Mika, the one character I’m happiest to have in the game? What are you high on? Anyway, why does it bother you so much that I don’t like certain characters in this game? Sounds to me like you’re the one salty as fuck here. :wink:

right, I just figured Necalli would be closer to like 650 max damage what with his V trigger’s focus.

anyways, has anything been found besides DP after EX command grab? crossunder shenanigans?

Anti Air Cr. Hp, St. HP (sometimes)

I’ve had some fun with Necalli this morning. I had to take a lunch break but I’ve got 3-4 nice BNBs so far
But I’m not finding much use for MOT (command throw)
It does like 66 DMG by itself so clearly it is meant to be followed up with something off the ground bounce. Anyone find something yet?

J. HP is an instant overhead…that’s all I can contribute for now. Crush counter HK can combo into c.mk which can go into either ex stomps or CA.

And agree with command throw. I can’t really see a reason for it to be used outside of EX version. Throwing seems like a much better option for the damage.

I saw someone tick into the Mask of Tlalli using standing LP on YouTube, atleast one version (LP, probably) has better range than standard throw. You should check out the ranges depending on the button used. I’m making an educated guess that the command grab cannot be teched by normal throws.

So far crossups have been a pain in the ass for me, since Necalli doesn’t seem to have a good vertical anti air

I’ve been fiddling with Necalli and his pokes are SO weird feeling. He hurts like hell though.

SO much stuff i’m hoping that works…doesn’t work.

His ex foot stomp looks like a combo ender, but i can’t find anything that works.

if you have two bars and score a standing hk crush counter, here’s a nice reset to take 70% health =

cc s.hk, slight walk forward, st.hp, mk rebellion, cr.mp, ex rebellion - reset - ex command grab, hp.dp.

-hp xx qcf+lk/mk is a true blockstring
-qcf.hk(launcher), hp.dp works in corner. Midscreen have to use ex dp(pointblank) or ex qcf+kk

qcf.mk seems -2 on block, wonder if EX command grab has strike invincibility or armour, as it leaves you close enough to grab the opponent.
Was hoping i could connect v-skill after qcf.hk, nope.

hp xx qcf+mk, cr.mp xx bf.lp works, or cancel into ex qcf+k and ex bf+p, you have enough time to charge it seems.

btw, in the newest builds you can cancel into v-skills right, or is it only for a select few characters?

So some noobish notes for Valiant Rebellion (his stomp) QCF+K
If you do Cr. HP/St.Hp xx MK VR or LK VR it combos
if you try Cr. Mk, Cr. Mp or St. Mp xx you must use LK VR or it will not combo
Just think Hard to Medium and Medium to Light
Same can be said for Disc Guidance B, F + P

Nice pressure tactic is St. Mp , Cr. MP xx LP DG or EX VR
if you are point blank range St. Mk, Cr. MP also links
Using these 2 listed or his TC into VSkill are great follow ups from J. MK cross ups
Recommend always holding B+VSkill to guarantee it hits especially if the opponent is cornered. If it whiffs they quick rise, you lose health.

Cr.Mp xx LP DG is a decent poke/counter/blocked special punish option.
